4. Still Lovin' Howard.
Seeing Governor Dean handle Wolf Blitzer made me all the happier that I had supported him throughout the Primary Season.

I miss him greatly.

He and Wes Clark have been Kerry's greatest assets these last weeks.

6. yep
no stories though.

I think Dean can do more now with DFA than when he was running for pres. We can take our country back from the ground up, not from the top down.

10. It will be awesome when Morrison ousts DeLay!!
If we get half of the Dean dozens in, it will be a plus. I forget which state, but there are at least a half dozen state house candidates in the Dean dozens.

32. Oh YEAH! Let's DeLOUSE the HOUSE!
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 11:20 PM by calimary
Or as nostamj would say -

Without delay - Out with delay!

That would be beyond sweet.

By the way, as far as polls go, haven't seen much lately, since I heard they were about 9 points apart. But that was also apparently a gain for Morrison, and the clincher so far is that delay was at about 45 percent - bad to be that far below 50 percent by now, for an incumbent.

Morrison has said if he can prove he's a muscular candidate by October, the Democratic Party national machinery will throw in everything it's got.

7. Well, that just put you on my buddy list!
Good for you. Here is a story. I can tell you that one of our local Deaniacs decided to run for congress against an incumbent with almost 50,000 dollars on hand.

He got the endorsement of the Lakeland Ledger, which is just amazing in itself. He got kudos from our local political editor for being so good at the debates this week as well. He was outstanding.

What is so surprising is that he is one of the first openly gay candidates to do so well in our conservative area. He has no paid staff, just grassroots. Odds are against him, but isn't that a great story?

First time trying he gets an endorsement and shines in debating. That is what Deanism is really about. Primary is tomorrow, so fingers crossed. We are proud because he is a good friend as well as a part of our group here. He is an amazing person.

Just went to the Michigan Dem Convention, and met lots of Dean Democrats. Seems we are known as "Progressives" now. Flying under the banner of DFA. The Michigan Dem Chair was definately interested in our activities and showed up at our party to nose around...

14. I love Dr. Dean too.
No stories <sigh>. I got turned on to him over a year ago. I saw him speak on CSpan and he had some great plans for health care and education. He impressed me because you see so few real progressives today with such a vision.
I'll always have a warm soft spot in my heart for him.

24. He was good, I posted the transcript earlier. Here you go.
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0408/29/le.00.html

DEAN: Well, now, Wolf, you sound like the Republicans. Their defense is, "Oh, the Democrats are doing it too." The truth is that there's a firewall that you're -- those groups are not allowed to talk to John Kerry or his campaign, and they haven't.

However, what we have seen is two people, both of whom have resigned, which ought to tell you something, who have been intimately involved, and one of whom appeared in the ad.

And this:

SNIP..."DEAN: "I might add, I'm surprised there hasn't been more play with The New York Times story this morning, or yesterday, that showed that the Abu Ghraib scandals may well reach into Secretary Rumsfeld's office.

What is going on in this administration? How come you guys aren't paying more attention to it?

BLITZER: Well, we're paying attention. Those reports, the Abu Ghraib prison investigation reaching the office of the secretary of defense, that was widely reported, once the reports, those two reports came out, the Fay report, the Schlessinger report came out last week.

Governor, unfortunately we're all out of time. We're trying to do the best job we can covering all the news here on CNN. Governor Howard Dean...

20. I still am a fan of Dr. Dean. Although, I must support Kerry and
Edwards, Dr. Dean and Dennis Kucinich speak for me more than our nominated candidates do. I hope Kerry can offer them both a place in his administration. There is just too much talent there to let it go to waste and Kerry is going to need all the competent help he can muster to fix all the destruction and corruption of the Bush administration.

38. My vote for best subject line
"My heart still belongs to Howard."

Yup, mine too. I have to admit it's still painful -- well, bittersweet is a better term -- for me to read through threads like this. It always brings tears to my eyes, and I always have to say to myself: when will the pain end? It still surprises me. And I haven't had the heart to go to the blog for a very long while.

One of my DU friends that I'm in contact with personally still thinks he'll be President some day. GAWD I hope so.

I love Howard, he is a genuine human being of excellent quality. He will make more of a difference than he would have as President now. What a guy.....Have you been watching his appearances, he says it like it is, Georgie Boy wouldn't have stood a chance. But it is their loss now, he will make a even more important series of changes..from the bottom up...grassroots baby...Go Dr. Dean....Yahoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
