advice needed to win a vote
my husband sat and listened to Kerry last night. he said
"If we dont' get democrats into the senate or the house, Kerry's winning will accomplish very little. How come I never hear Kerry
reminding us that we need to clean up the house and senate with some
fresh democrats". then he said "If i don't hear him saying that,
I might not vote..."
"all Kerry ever says is 'John and Me' what about all the senators, and representative we need to turn this regime around?"

thanks in advance
MImi

1. Tell him that if enough people find an excuse NOT to vote in November
that they might not ever have a chance to vote again.

2. Well first of all
it's not true that Kerry's winning will accomplish very little. As an individual he President has far more power than any senator or rep, or any special interest group. It's amazing how all that veto power tends to sway people over to your point of view.

3. Of course Kerry wants to "get democrats" into the senate and house.

He had done a lot already.

“This unprecedented support from a presidential campaign to the DSCC will significantly improve the prospects of a Democratic Senate in November,” said Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD). (The DSCC raised $15.1 million in the 2nd quarter of 2004.)

“This historic and generous contribution reflects John Kerry's commitment to a legislative agenda worthy of the aspirations and needs of the American people,” House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said. “He knows that when he is president, a Democratic House will support and engage him in his work to make America stronger at home and more respected in the world.”

“We are overwhelmed by the tremendous generosity of the Kerry campaign,” said DCCC Chair Robert T. Matsui (CA). “This is the first time in recent history that a presidential campaign has contributed to the DCCC, and it just goes to show John Kerry's commitment to electing a Democratic House. We look forward to standing with John Kerry and John Edwards and enacting an agenda that fosters hope and opportunity throughout America.” (The DCCC raised $16 million in the 2nd quarter of 2004.)
