If all the US is concerned about econmically is opening markets world-wide
so that US companies can make huge profits to not pay taxes on and to move off-shore and employ workers in other countries to make good for America, then we are doomed. It appears that both parties are on this path rather than a balanced path that also seek to raise working and living standards here in America. It's almost like it is ok for the US population to be mostly illiterate, ill-informed, ill-mannered, and ill. Few seem to care about children but they sure as hell care about fetuses. Few seem to care about young blacks killing each other in numbers that exceed 9/11 deaths either by guns and/or drugs. Both parties seem to think that a "standard of living" is measured by ignoring the underserved, uneducated. America's "standard of living" seems to be measured only by the state of the upper 10%.
