Would you rather see Shrub win this time?
Before you slaughter me, listen!

Bush has created a BIG mess in Iraq. It's going to be a nightmare to fix! Why not let him have to fix ONE problem in his life, all alone!

I would rather see a house & senate majority!

I want the Dems to get back in the WH, but I'm not sure this is the right time!!!

1. Well, he's had four years to make things...
... better and he's made things worse.

The first rule of holes is that if you find yourself in one, stop digging.

Getting rid of Bush at least stops the digging.

Cheers.

4. Why not both?
If we win:

Presidency - Bush can't pull any more crap, but we can't get Congress moving.

Congress - Bush can't pull his crap, but he'll veto anything Dems do.

Both - the sky is the limit.

BTW, we owe it to the Iraqi people not to let Bush screw it up any more than he already has.

8. HELL NO!!!
I'm sorry, but he's not going to fix anything. He will make things infinitely worse and by the time he's through, his mess will be unfixable. I really believe that Kerry will be able to get us on the right track and I guess we Americans will maybe have to sacrifice a little and actually participate in our democracy if we want it in working order again.

we can't afford it. I know it sounds like the same thing everyone repeats, but we all know how well Bush can fix problems. He can't even give himself the heimlich maneuver, or avoid choking at his age in the first place. To give him four more years, yeah, maybe at the end of it, we can burn him at the stake or hang him or something. But I know what you're talking about. Sometimes it seems like that would be better cause Kerry ain't much of an improvement. But four more years gives them more time to screw everything the hell up...more so.

18. I agree ...
Maybe I've been wearing a tinfoil hat for almost 4 years now, but I have this terrible feeling that if we don't have a fair election this time and get * out, we will never get another chance. Voting will be abolished for one reason or another, or they'll get electronic voting machines installed everywhere and just pretend like we're still electing people ... We have to get him out. I think we have a choice right now. Either we can go into a new phase of our country, where we start living up to our ideals again, peacefully or not. Getting * out now at least gives us a chance of doing it peacefully.

Thanks. At least someone here sees my point!

You wouldn't need to worry about 4 SC judges, they wouldn't be passed! The only thing he would be able to do, if at all, is executive orders, and even those could be challenged.

I really in my heart hope Kerry wins, but there's that little thing in the back of my head that says....pay back is a bitch!

24. Two Words

Supreme Court

Duration: Indefinite

You're already looking ahead, which is good, but look even further ahead, and broaden the context. If Shrub gets in again, his legacy lives on even longer than it already will. And, he will fix nothing.

I may in fact be true that the mess is so disasterous at this point that Kerry can only begin start fixing it, thus leading to a very tough time of it in '08.

But, those justice appointments are coming up. The mess will only get worse if they are Bush appointees.

AND Cheney died from his long overdue and much deserved massive coronary AND all the other neo-cons in the administration developed a rare fatal anal dysentary and died AND all the other non-moderate repukes turned down the Presidency so that only a cool one like Chafee or a Dem took the spot. That's about the only way.

50. Actually...
It would require being certain that Bush and Cheney were gone.

Once they're both gone, the Speaker of the House is next in line. In a Democratic-controlled House, it'd be a Dem. (Nancy Pelosi?)

Once the Dem was Pres, any of the prior Admin that they didn't want to maintain could be replaced. Hopefully, Bush and Cheney would take the other neo-cons down with them, anyway.

As much as I'd like * to take, for the first time in his life, full responsibility for his GIANT FUCKUP, its just not worth the cost. Who knows what these evil bastards would do with another four years and not having to worry about re-election?

Unfortunately President Kerry is going to get crapped on by the Pukes and the SCLM for whatever goes wrong in Iraq and it will hurt him and the Democratic Party, but that would still be better than 4 more months of Dumbass Dubya, let alone four more YEARS of this shit.

35. I think I understand why you ask
some days I look at this country and think it would <maybe> be good in the long run if the GOP had another four years. Because I think they would manage to bankrupt the nation, completely alienate any last vestiges of respect and compassion the rest of the world may have for us, and in doing all that there would be absolutely no way of escaping the fact that it was GOP failure. That might be the end of the GOP for decades or more.

But, then I think of the damage such a scenario would create, and how difficult it would be to rebuild, and am daunted. So, sometimes I think about a Shrub win, but can't ever bring myself to actually wish or hope for such.

PS - whatever the possibility of recapturing the Senate, I think the House is out of reach; too many non-contested seats.

Let BushCo take the economic shit, that they created...because taxes will have to raised, and the republicans can then AGAIN point the finger at the Democrats (because of the absolute debt mess we are in) and they may very well win 2008...because, you know we'll hear the same old lies-- "tax and spend democrats" in which they are actually picking up after the sickening mess that will be left by the greedy lying corporate republicans who raided our Treasury for personal gain...and believe it or not so many people will buy it, and people here will actually vote for a republican. Same old fucking circle, they have absolutely no concept of ideology and can easily be swayed, they fucking believe they are voting for the man---and ideology will take a backseat.

Except---for the appointees on the US Supreme Court, (that will indeed have an effect our country for decades to come)...I say let Bush and the fucking do nothing republican congress take the shit.

But ONLY because of the potential Supreme Court nominees, that is so incredible fucking important...I will vote for Kerry.

42. This is beyond democrat and republican
This is why people like Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky are endorsing Kerry. This group in the WH should have been impeached long ago.

It is not a matter of W. being taught a lesson and having to learn to fix this "mess".

This "mess" is an ongoing string of atrocities that this administration has no intentions of fixing. Far from it. They are ready to cross the border into the next quagmire. It is unimaginable what the world has had to suffer under this group's agenda.

Sorry, I understand the concept, but, hey, there are so many republicans stepping up to condemn these neocons that it is obvious they don't serve anyone's party but their own private one of global domination.
