Is Bush is wired? Watch this vid!
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 02:47 AM by oldhat
Wow. I'm pretty skeptical but this is weird.

He flubs the "look forward to working line" but the "echo" doesn't. Strange.

2. If it's a wireless earpiece...

The sound feed to Bush's ear could have easily interferred with Fox News' mics and sound setup, if the hypotetical Bush line-feeder was using a frequency close to Fox News' frequency.

And this isn't the only time this has happened:

http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2004/10/13/transmitter/

Reports are flying around the Web about earlier televised events where audio glitches allegedly permitted TV viewers to hear someone directing what Bush to say, including his public remarks at the Sea Island G-8 summit meeting in June, his D-day anniversary speech in France, and a New York speech following 9/11.

Who's voice is that? Salon referred to this incident at this particular press conference in their article, so this video is legitimate.

So, so weird. What the hell is going on?

Damn, I was skeptical about this, I thought it was a bulletproof vest or something but now I'm really beginning to think...is he wired?!?

3. I'd love to believe this one, but no
The sound is exactly the same voice as Bush's, with the same pronunciations, pauses, and inflections. Most likely explanation: A reporter's cellphone at the news conference site was left on-air, transmitting the audio back to the control room before it was sent via the satellite (long delay).

5. It is NOT an echo. I agree it is Bush's voice, BUT in the first minute
about the 3rd sentence in, the prompt says "I look forward to working with President Chirac". Then Bush messes up and says "I look WORKING", then corrects himself to "look forward to working".
If it was and echo or like, it would match word for word. It doesn't.
But it does sound like Bush's voice. Could they have recorded him speaking to prompt himself?

7. That struck me at first too...
After spending a couple of times listening to it, I think it's at best inconslusive... When I listened to the 'prompt', I couldn't hear the "I" at the begining, it's just "look forward to working with President Chirac" The flub in the prompt might be covered by bushs "...democratic and viable state of their own. I agree it does sound like bushs voice on the prompt or whatever. If it weren't so late I'd bust out some audio tools so I could overlay the two tracks and see how well they match...

8. Exactly

He flubbed the line but the voice didn't flub the line?

Can anyone explain it? Honestly, is there another explanation?

And what's going on when the reporter asks the question at the end? Is there an "echo" there? Or not? I can't tell.

But it does sound like Bush's voice. Could they have recorded him speaking to prompt himself?

Prerecord it, then play it back. Makes sense, right? If you're going to feed the lines?

4. He may have been wired once, or twice, or thirty times.
That does not mean that he is *always* wired, or was wired at the debate.

Personally, I don't think spitting out the same old tired "talking points" over and over would require a wire after the first 20 or 30 repetitions while on the stump.

9. It's all too real, and all too scary
Just the fact that the entire globe is discussing the fact that our President may or may not be wired!!!! This is ghastly--Other countries are calling Bush a cheat. I know when I heard the Chirac speech Live on CNN, my reaction was absolute shock and I couldn't wait for it to be repeated. But when it was repeated, it had been doctored up, and I completely forgot about it until people started buzzing about the rectangular object on his back and brought up the previous speech as proof. The web page isbushwired.com closed down (or was shut down) due to heavy traffic, and another link to the Chirac speech (by a photographer in France who was there and commented on the look of total shock on Chirac's face when this occured) was also closed down (philbriton.com)and one of the links to the video contrasting Bush 10 years ago with now is closed down (I still haven't been able to see that one.)

Some are suggesting that Bush recorded himself rather than use teleprompters or notes. I'm sure someone has done voice analysis on it. But regardless, I remember my anger when this happened--it was real.

This is the most corrupt government and the media has ignored it. Just with Halliburton alone, Cheney should be in jail.
