This is my first attempt at screen writing, the working title I have at the moment is "The Crescent Moon." The title is also the name of the ship which is a beautiful silver boat, shaped like a Cresent Moon.
It is a pirate movie that is a cross between Dune and the Princess Bride, a lot heavier on the Dune side, with my villian, who is the priest of a dominant religion, invading for a resource.
So far I have 65 pages written of what will be 140 pages, the whole damn thing just flew in my head. It is so weird I sit at the computer and it just flows out, page after page. I got the entire movie in my head all at once, a complete picture; dialogue, plot, and everything. The only thing that takes time is typing it and making sure that my characters scripted movements and places flow, fight sceens etc.
It took me about a week to write the 65 pages and I haven't had time to touch it for the last few months.
It is like some crazy switch has been flipped, I now have about 10 different movie ideas, all complete in plot, dialogue, and character developement.
Now I realize that Hollywood is a tough town, but judging by some of the absolutely craptastic movies I have seen over the last 10 years, I'll hedge my bets.
My only aces in pocket are my absolutely brilliant husband and friends who will help with editing and one friend to add some funny lines, as I am not the most hiliarious person.
Also my Aunt Bonnie used to be married to Wes Craven, which rocks b/c if I were to sell this movie to anyone New Line Cinema would be my first choice. I haven't met him and I am not particularly close to my Aunt Bonnie, we have only hung out about 6 or 7 times in my entire life, although she thinks that I am both smart and cool. I am going to send her a copy of the script and ask for his number.
Damn, I cannot wait until Kerry wins so I can finish my screen play, it is so nagging to have all of these ideas stuck in my head.
I'll post a link here when I get to finish it, I think that DUers would like it. Many times the movie is a thinly vailed slam at Bushco, in some cases using their arguments for war and religion but since it is on a fictional planet, no harm no foul.
