Fun from deep within bush* country....Louisiana

Wow, how much fun was this afternoon!! About 25 of us met at Cajun field and held up Kerry signs and anti-bush signs to the people of Lafayette who had the good fortune to drive by and see us! We got alot of thumbs up and honks, and a few middle finger salutes. One guy was so busy giving us a thumbs down, that he lost control of his truck and drove over the median to the other side of the street. He was OK though, a little embarrassed. Then 2 young people showed up on the opposite side of the street with bush* signs, and there was a lot of good-natured yelling back and forth. Then Channel 10 showed up, filmed the whole thing, and interviewed some of us. I really think the people of Lafayette were absolutely freaked at seeing us out there with our Kerry signs, our American flags, our anti-bush signs....how often does that happen in bush* country??? If you are anywhere near Lafayette, we are doing it again next Sunday with even more people....just DU mail me and I'll give you the where and when. You know what? Kerry doesn't have a chance in hell of winning down here, but it was absolutely invigorating to let people know there are Kerry supporters "down south" too.

5. We did the same thing in PA last week!

It was SOO much fun. We got maybe 10 "fingers" and at least 4 or 5 times more honks, thumbs up, and waves! It was AWESOME! These visibility events are really a lot of fun and you always get good receptions - I'd encourage everyone to do them :)
