To have Elizabeth Edwards here. Mrs. Edwards - I want to thank you for everything you did, and let you know that I think you and your family are exceptional. You gave us such hope and we'll carry that with us forward.

I am as disappointed to lose the opportunity to have you as the "Second Lady" as I am to lose the opportunity to have Mama T. as the "First Lady". You're both true portraits of modern women today, you represent us so much better than our current administration.

I'm not much of a prayer, Christianity kind of drove me away, but I am sending my best prayers, thoughts and wishes to you for a speedy recovery from your illness and for your whole family. I hope we haven't seen the last of all of you in the public spotlight.

my question is how do we really know that it is the real Elizabeth Edwards and how do know that the post the other day By Teresa's son was really him? Anyone could join DU ans day they are someone famous....dont get me wrong, I think it is great that Elizabeth Edwards posts here and reads posts as well....I am always a little concerned though thst someone is pulling a fast one on us....know what I mean?

I am older than you, the mother of five, grandmother of two, so I hope you will allow me to call you Elizabeth. That is how we all think of you here on DU.

First, allow me to apologize for the threads that are so rabid in their disappointment at the early concession. We, on DU, have been obsessed with winning this election, and it broke our hearts. It, however, has not changed the love and admiration we have for the wonderful Edwards family and for the Kerry family, for the most part. I have to admit that there might be some who will falter in this; they're that disappointed.

We are so glad that you are here, because we can tell you personally how much we love and admire you. Your family is simply inspirational. We will all be praying for you as you start your treatment and hope you will feel free to visit any time you like. At this juncture, I hope you will not take it amiss if I say to you, we have your back and front and everything in between.

Some of us are night owls, and will be here to hold your hand at any time of the night. Log on, and you are with friends.

Please tell John, for us, that our heads and hearts are with him as he heads down this next path, politically and personally. We would love for him to join us some time, Cate also.

We are all stepping into a new world today, and need direction to be as effective as possible. Some very good ideas are beginning to emerge from the abyss. I believe that most of us will be on board again to help wherever we can. God Speed.

I'm here to fight the good fight. I went to work last night wearing a pair of Code Pink high top shoes......I'm currently a nurse on a telemetry unit at a local Dayton, Ohio hospital. I wore the shoes because it would draw attention ....it did and with each comment, I would give my little Democratic pep talk.....planting seeds and leaving a positive impression.


I'm glad you are here....as it helps me stay focused, confident and validated. We all want to "Keep Hope Alive".
