"Last Letters Home"
This documentary on HBO was probably the saddest thing I have ever seen...

When are we all going to stop bitching about the election and begin to come together in some sort of united effort to help end this bullshit war? Why is no one doing anything about this? why do we not have the balls that they did in the 60s? are we all afraid to take a step forward?

We need a leader! And we need to start the revolution! We need to take back this country now!!!!

2. Excuse me...
"When are we all going to stop bitching about the election and begin to come together in some sort of united effort to help end this bullshit war?"

Did it ever occur to you that the two are not mutually exclusive?

3. I Recall It Took Some Time to End That One Too
and that was with a Democratic Congress.

We're bitching about the stolen elections because that's how they
are staying in power. If they hadn't stolen the 2002 election,
there might not have been an Iraq war.

6. I never got a chance to welcome you, but I'm afraid your stay
is going to be short. Personal attacks on other DUers is not permitted. --even if you disagree with them. You might be able to edit your post, which I would advise you to do.

8. Too late
I think the mods are already aware.

Take this crap to Freeperville, viva. If you want to have a discussion, let's do it. What are we supposed to respond to "you're an idiot?" There IS a lot of work to be done. I'm not sure how your name calling helps accomplish your supposed goal.

11. Back to Freeperville?
Are you serious atman? youre no better than them. take a step back and look at yourself. if you even bothered to read my post, you relaize how off base your attack is. if you honestly believe that your chance of reversing the election results are more important than whats going on in iraq, then you are an idiot...and neither the mods, nor yourself can argue that.

17. easy
Election fraud may be the achille's heel of the warmakers.

I am so upset about the war that I can hardly talk about it or sleep or eat, so I understand.

9. I dont need your welcome!
Ive been here for a long time, although mostly to read. I wont edit anything either. Im growing sick of this board and sick of members like you. You are pussies that need to quit crying about the election results and move on to something that can help us change things for the better. If you dont like my tone, then fuck you! grow a goddamn spine. Hows that for a personal attack?

Im trying to get you people to wake the fuck up. Youre not going to be able to change whats already happened. So just give it up and lets do something productive. This war is bogus...we all know it. So lets work to bring this to the forefront of society and rise up to end this bullshit.

15. Can't we just try to keep this civil?
We don't need to be sliming mud around like this. We at this moment have an administration in office that moves our military around like toy figures in some twisted game. We are all being used as pawns in some sick game. We don't need to fight with each other over what should be a mutually agreed cause for peace and prosperity. To protect all members of our country from being sent to die and to protect those at home from being starved to death so that we can have another two dozen billionairs when the average median income amone those in the below 200k per year are going down, not up.

10. Calm down folks
these true tales are totally evocative and truly heart wrenching.

There is really no argument. We simply can't get a change in the administration until we ameliorate the voting system which is completely riddled with inequities.

As a life long pacifist, I'm continually mortified by what is happening. That hardly diminishes the dire need for electoral reform.

"youre no better than them. take a step back and look at yourself."

While normally I'd say an apology is in order, I can only imagine that viva is pretty ripped apart by the program, judging from the reaction, and probably not in a totally clear head right now. However, the name calling is not helping at all. Viva, I did not say I thought you were a freeper...I don't think that for a moment, but the tone of your response was as I said. And before you start hurling accusations about ME, you might want to do a bit of a search on my posts and my background. You're a relatively new poster and you are slinging mud at some long time DUers who are working very hard to help right some serious injustices. You're only hurting your case by slamming the people who are already doing what you "demand."

As Stella so accurately points out, the war and the electoral system -- and this recent election in particular -- are inexorably linked. You need to calm yourself down and think about that for a moment. You really do.

14. Your welcome Atman
and no problem.

I just feel that we're all more than a little reactive yet we all have different talents, abilities, and priorities and perhaps can focus on them accordingly.

This disparity unfortunately illustrates well the tired cliche of the Dems being in a continual circular firing squad.

It doesn't help at all. The atrocities of the war and the inequities of the election are of equal but very different concern to me.

Respecting and revering all life is of the immediate concern. Rectifying past injustices will only help us create a better future.

Silly me.

16. I Have Been Working to Stop the War AND BBV
Reverse the election? That would be wonderful, but you can hardly say
we expect it. If we did, there would not be so many long faces
around here.

If we can stop the theft of future elections, we at least have a chance
of getting our country back.

If we can reduce his margins we reduce his "mandate".
He is using that "mandate" right now to unleash ever more bloodshed
in Iraq. We need to call that "mandate" into question as forcefully
as possible. Do you not agree?

We have been working to stop the war since before it started.

I think some have mistaken you for a freeper because you made a couple
of posts, including this one, which merely attack without conveying any
useful information.
