My email exchange with THE repiglican realtor from GA
I sent an email to that nasty GA realtor - the "Dear Sad Liberals" one, and after some days she wrote back.

I always assume everyone is of reasonable intelligence, but boy was I wrong about this.

She wrote to me about how because of DU she cried for two days. She actually said DU "RAPED" her.

She then went on to say DU shuld help her liberal sister who is having some trouble.

But her every email was ridiculously dumb and took some real deciphering. It was like arguing with an 11 year old, or someone with serious developmental disabilities. So I stopped exchanging emails at all, even though she several times asked me to respond.

Again, I assume people are reasonably intelligent - when I saw what I was dealing with I was no longer surprised by her idiotic column - in fact I was impressed she could string a few paragraphs together. I'm not even sure she wrote it at all.

2. Oh for goodness sakes
Hm, her emails include some litigous threats about disclosure of information in her emails. Is such a thing even legal? Seems to me that once she's sent it to me it's my business if I want to share it or not.

Here's a snippet:

***I didn't mean the article the way it came
across...I didn't mean "sad" as in "pathetic"...I meant
it as sad as in not happy. Anyways, you guys are hard
core. I cried for two days but then all of a sudden it
all stopped. When my company shut down my web site,
y'all couldn't get to me anymore and it stopped. But
then the thread was deleted and I was the happiest
person in the world.***

4. OK, here's some free legal advice
Post them as if you sent them to someone - no names, just the quoted text.

<wink, wink>

She cried for TWO WHOLE DAYS?

Post them. Oh, please post them.............

Since you're offering free legal advice, can someone even hold you to that? If they send you an email you're required to keep it confidential?

10.
The common law is that the letter sent is the property of the one who wrote it.

I, however, would argue that this is not a letter, but a publication, since it's in response to an inquiry regarding a document that was intended for general distribution.

See?

So, yes, you're doing very nicely.

8. Just a greedy person.. She could not resist the opportunity to advertise
even in a LTTE.. Had she just wanted her opinion out there, she just needed to use an initial and last name..not a picture (with an enlarge feature to it)and the realtor reference.. her occupation was NOT a part of her opinion..

She saw a chance for free advertising, and it bit her on her ass..

Man, you don't find language like that just anywhere.

This is the mother lode of stupidity, I believe.

She was onto enough "ideas" to make snide and insulting remarks about Democrats and people who didn't share her political beliefs, as I recall.

14. Welcome to DU! The story is about a young realtor in GA
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 12:25 AM by apolitical no more
who wrote an editorial that started out saying something like, "Poor sad liberals."

Then she went on to say that * had a mandate, that American rocks, and that Gen X'rs ruled the world.

She ended it by saying: "I know you Kerry supporters are sad. But look beyond yourself and realize that America will prevail. History will show in hindsight how glad you are you lost this election."

As if!!

It was extremely arrogant and she deserved all of us jumping on her and sending nasty emails to her and Coldwell-Banker, her employer.

Edited to add a quote. I realized I had saved the web page. Tee, hee, tee, hee.

In all seriousness, her emails to me established her as someone so naive and developmentally stunted I don't think she could have really written the editorial. Not without a lot of help.

24. Liberals need to listen to America's clear voice
Liberals need to listen to America's clear voice

Published on: 11/08/04

Dear Sad Liberals:

When are you going to face the truth? America rocks. And your social ideas were rejected. The American press tells us President Bush now needs to bring us all together. The European press tells us that Americans are simply stupid, that we didn't realize the stakes of this election.

The exit polls say "morality" was the No. 1 issue people voted in this
election.

Does the fact that Bush won the election mean that John Kerry's supporters were immoral? Of course not. Both sides are moral. But more Americans felt Bush represented their morals. Americans refuse to allow European newspapers, Osama bin Laden, Hollywood or the liberal elite to tell them who to vote for.

Generation X is coming of age, giving misguided baby boomers a run for their money. Generation X wants common sense injected into the abortion debate. We don't want our daughters to get their advice from Planned Parenthood. We want parental notification laws, and to keep partial-birth abortion illegal.

On gay marriage, you imposed your abortion policies with activist judges 35 years ago, but we've gotten smart. If you want your liberal polices to pass American muster now, you have to go through the normal American channels.

Elect people who agree with you. Make your case. Don't go behind our backs to select liberal courts with activist judges to try to get your agenda passed.

In this election, America made a statement. We will not socialize our health care system. Reform health insurance and medical malpractice. Bush inherited a recession from President Clinton. And then a major terrorist attack occurred.

Within 36 months, the recession turned into a recovery; and despite John Kerry's campaign rhetoric, Bush's tax cuts on small businesses kept us from going into a depression in America's darkest times.

You can't build the economy by raising taxes. And the class warfare Kerry-Edwards used to make their case simply doesn't ring true for the majority of Americans.

I know you Kerry supporters are sad. But look beyond yourself and realize that America will prevail. History will show in hindsight how glad you are you lost this election.

41. not a single original thought
She is just repeating the lines she has been fed.

She is no worse than most of the rest of the RW idiots that support *.

It probably not a good idea to ruin a single person because of your dislike of her words. There are loads of them you'd have to ruin. As arrogant as she sounds she probably got most of these lines from someone else.. Like her preacher!

Whats really sad is that we have droves of sheep that follow people blindly and parrot these ideas as if they are their own. Most do not even realize they are not thinking independently.

26. I'm surprised.
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 01:55 AM by Avalon Sparks
I've been a DU member since early 2001 and I have never chastised anyone on DU for anything written on the boards, but I feel I must comment on this to those of you that think we should still mess with this lady by starting a new round of emails to her, or posting her replies on this board.

I sent a nasty email to this realtor and I was surprised to get a rather humbling response back from her. I used profantity in my email, I said I hope her sons get drafted - and she wrote back saying she was compelled to answer individually all the emails she received.

It's my belief we have messed with this poor woman enough. We messed with her head and we messed with her career and I bet it had a lot more to do with our frustrations with the recent election results than being angry about another 'let me define liberal for you' letter to the editor.

Gretchen (that's her name by the way) expressed her opinion in a forum specifically for that purpose. I think it showed a lot of character that she responded back to our - or at least my own venom filled email. Let's let her move on now, please?

27. mercy for the bad if they want it
I have never been a big fan of venom.
The question is whether we want to attack her, educate her, or humiliate her/laugh at her.
Myself, I would like her vote in 2006, so I think that attacking and humiliation are not productive strategies, even if they tend to be a natural response.

like you're acting out your own guilt here. So what if people want to know what happened to her, or what she had to say? What's the big deal?

You say you wrote and "used profanity... said I hope her sons get drafted."

Nice. And you dare to suggest here that we should back away from the subject.

I don't see any profanity or meanspiritedness here, but I think your email to her sounds nasty.

Please feel free to "move on". I'm tired of people saying that, when it's simply to cover up their own inadequacies.

Okay,

I've been on the boards for while but usually just read, hardly reply....don't really have the time here at work. But, here's the deal, just like in the middle east it is here....the love has to start from somewhere and it apparently won't be from that side of the aisle. But, if we become them...where's the example of what we should be to come from? Okay, got my MLK speech outa the way. Time for reality...you can't fight an 4 armed freak with one hand tied behind your back...you will lose and you probably will die, so where does that leave us? Suggestions??

if she says we "raped" her.
All she did was raise the ire of a lot of pissed of people, and we're not going to let anything like this slide anymore. Like I said in the original threat:

BED...MADE...SLEEP!

She willingly wrote that letter, knowing it was insulting and pandering, and now she says we "raped" her? She voted to keep the world at this horrendous status quo, and we're going to remind her and everyone like her just what she voted for. If she can't handle those reminders, then she should get out of political discussion entirely.

That, and her saying we "raped" her is an insult to every rape victim in the world, past and present.

That she continues to respond shows me that she is trying to reach out. If she is truly as limited as you say her email responses are, then you should take her at her word.

What I'm saying is do a gut check on this stuff. If this LTTE had been written by one of us with Dem instead of Republican (had we won) what would you have thought? And if a freeper had attacked the author, what would you have thought?
