Fellow DUers, I have a question
I keep seeing "DELETED MESSAGE" on posts. I know why they are deleted, but call me crazy. . .but I want to know the tenor, demeanor and language of deleted posts.

Could someone post me an example? I want to see what we are dealing with when the "other side" decides to infect our little corner of the web?

Thanks, dude.

Happy Turkey Day (no, not George W. Bush Day <though I can think of other adjectives to describe him than insult a poor turkey that is, of course, more intelligent than Mr. Open Fly>) from Arizona.

1. A deleted message doesn't mean it was a freeper ...
could be inappropriate language or tone.

4. Reminds me of the last time I had a post deleted
It was an Israel/Palestine thread. I said that I thought the killing of non-combatants was so obviously wrong that anybody who thought otherwise might as well be a freeper.

That got deleted. But I didn't get tombstoned. (And I don't think it got decremented from my post count.)

I concluded that I/P threads are so inherently volatile that my use of "freeper" as an epithet was considered equivalent to an f-bomb. (Not that I was such a great example of tolerance and forbearance. But I'm still miffed about it.)

7. No ... I've had a post deleted for an unkind remark
I had to acknowledge to the powers that be that I reread the rules and I wouldn't do it again before I could make any more posts.

If you continue to do it, you could be tombstoned.

8. Freepers don't always get deleted
I post regularly on Free Republic, and have recently started posting here. While I'm generally a bit to the left of FR, I am much more conservative than is typical here. Anyway, I try to be polite and give (what I think are) well reasoned arguments in both places.

To date, I have not had a post deleted.

The moderators here seem very reasonable - political debate is one of the main purposes here, so keep it going.
