The media always focuses on stories of young white women, not people of color and usually not men either. Obviously there is nothing new in that regard here, except for the especially gruesome nature of the case.
If you're planning a crime or want privacy in general, don't get on the internet. In this case, authorities doubtless had probably cause for a warrant. For most of us, nobody bothers with a warrant. The Discovery Times channel is running a program about companies buying and selling private information they acquire online. It's produced by Lowell Bergman, who works for "Frontline" and is the man portrayed by Al Pacino in "The Insider." The program is mentioned via a photo link on the front page of today's New York Times.
