If what I just saw on the History Channel about North Korea is true...
We should have invaded N. Korea instead of Iraq if we wanted to spread democracy in the world. It would have been an easy invasion. All we had to do was drop care packages instead of bombs, offered food, clothing, fuel, and building materials and we could have walked right in. The people there are much worse off than the Iraqis ever were under Saddam and far more ignorant of the rest of the world. It is a real tragedy to know that we could overcome this evil government for about 1/10 of what it cost to invade Iraq. The people there who are really starving and desperate would really have welcomed us with open arms an dancing in the street. We, led by the Bush administration, are demonizing the people of N. Korea while it is their leaders who are evil. The people of N. Korea are victims, the truest victims of evil leaders as anyone wants to see on earth.

I now believe that their "nuclear threat" is as empty as the phony hospital building shown in this documentary. The people are desperate and insane from hunger and disease. Surely, the great minds of the west could come up with a plan to save this nation? This is truly a nation to be pitied rather than feared or vilified. But then, they have no oil.

3. Well also, to be fair, they might have the bomb.
And China definately does have the bomb. We might be able to do it now, but at times in N. Koreas history, conflict with N. Korea could have lead to war with China.

4. It wouldn't be an easy invasion...
just because they're hungry doesn't mean the NK army won't fight you. The NK people are heavily indoctrinated.

7. Believe me, nothing un-indoctrinates like food to starving people!
We just never think to try it. We would rather shoot them.

15. Yeah they were real easy , Right.
In the early fifties they were not easy. And the Chinese army that came to their assistance were not easy either.

Read 'The River and the Gauntlet' if you can find it.

Hey rooboy. How you doing?

5. It occurs to me that if the white Russians and white Americans had just
stayed the hell out of Korea, the countries might just be united and doing fine now. The who tragic mess was a result of imperialism from white communists (Russia) fighting imperialism from white capitalists (the US). Remember, it was the Brits who gave us the nation of Iraq and the Americans who kept Saddam in power. Why the hell don't we just leave the rest of the world alone?

12. But if the "people" could have their way they would be united.
They are starving, afraid, and browbeaten to do the will of the state.
We really didn't try to resolve this problem. We were too busy focusing on making the "communism" the boogey man instead of trying to live on a planet that could deal with communism and capitalism as two socio-economic systems with good and bad points in both. Right now we are able to deal with China and Russia. We say communism was defeated but in reality neither communism nor capitalism survies in their alleged "ideal" forms. Our government controls through coprporations that really couldn't make it without government support just as much as communist governments control. We are all brainwashed. We are just brainwashed in different ways.

9. Whoa! Make China enemy, no good...
I don't think China would go for us having a base near their border. Bad enough it's in SK.

Had RepubliCONs funded the nuclear light-water reactor in Clinton's time, they would not have that old-style reactor making bomb grade Plutonium. But, no. The CONs were too busy. Busy ignoring Clinton's anti-terrorism efforts and laughing at Gore for supporting to send a death missile at Osama binladen. Real smart, aren't they.

To help the North Koreans, we'll need some help from China. Slow, but, it will come.

11. Carpet bomb them........
with $20.00 bills. Cheaper, less bloody, and we'll convert them to capitalists overnight. Problem solved.

16. There is no money to be made dropping that stuff.
Lots of money in tactical weapons, weapons systems, and military contracts. For God's sake, there is a lot of money to be made with destructive killing wars, and some folks had to wait a long time to finally be able to make billions of dollars. Those poor neglected folks who had to endure Clinton for eight years and accept only humanitarian conflicts, can finally be Mega-Rich with our Imperialist Wars.

Just makes you sick, don't it?

17. you commie
you liberals think you can throw crap like food and medicine at people and improve their lives. typical DUMocrap lie.

Don't you realize that only by bombing the crap out of them first will they be in a position to receive our true love and the aid of our megacorporations that will charge them to fix everything we break. Besides, there isn't enough money in all of N Korea to justify an invasion. We couldn't pay off Krispy Kreme, much less Halliburton or Boeing with all the loot in Pyongyang.

You commie liberal pinko sap.
