intends on running for President one day? And I'm not insinuating that John Edwards was a bad candidate, I love John Edwards. But just in general, what is the likelihood that a president hold office for 2 terms, and a vice president succeed him for the next two? It just seems a little unfeasible for a single party to hold on to the excutive branch for 16 full years, especially in this day in age with "political" shout fests on MSRNC and FOX.

What do you guys think? Should we push our candidate to pick a VP candidate without a desire to run for president?

1. Bush chose Cheney to help Bush's chances.
No one honestly thinks Cheney is going to run, do they?

2. Well Cheney has made it clear that he doesn't intend on running at
all. So they're not using the VP office to maintain their leadership continuity. All I'm asking is why should the VP office have a monopoly over leadership succession in our party for 2008?
