Why do the Dems and media allow Rice to continue to put forth the lie

that Saddam would not comply with UN requests about WMDs? What the hell was that 12,000 page report of which 8,000 pages were censored? Why did we have to give the inspectors time to get out of Iraq if they weren't already there? Does anyone in our government care about truth anymore? Do the American people?

Our demands were rather on the lines of "Yes or No -- have you stopped beating your wife?"

2. well, like Britney Spears says, we should just trust the president.

I grew up in a fundie family that told me that feminism was about men and women being forced to use the same bathrooms.

So I don't know if a significant portion of the public ever did care about the truth, they just care if their team (ideology) has control. I'm not old enough to say for sure, it'll take another few flips of power if the country remains a democracy, plus with rigged elections we won't know the outcome of anything. I'd say the sentiment with which sane people regard this admin is about the same as it did the Reagan admin, that is with shock and disgust.

3. If one were to admit she is lying,

then one would have to admit that one either a) fell for the lies, making one a fool, or b)actively faciliated the lie-telling, thus making oneself a liar, but either way it's just too damn embarrasing. Better press on.
