Republicans Might Call for Repeal of Bush Tax Cuts!!
Just walked by this bit of news on CNN on way to computer. They were saying that Bush is coming under criticism from both Dems and Republicans because he has to come up with "some real creative ways" to fund this Iraq war mess. They just said that besides the Dems that have been calling for the repeal, it is now expected that a lot of republicans are going to also call for it and that (their words), Bush may have to "eat crow on this one"!!! This man is, truly, a monumental fuck up isn't he?? I was wondering when we were going to start to get this backlash from his own party. They are looking at his approval numbers, too. When that begins to happen, the press begins more criticism, numbers drop further and then the party panics. Just like Dems who ran from the name "Clinton", we are going to have worried repukes up for re-election on may have to "distance" theselves from the WMD (Worthless Misinformed Drunk)........

And now he's out on a campaign run talking about education,of all things. Damn, this is like living in the twilight zone. x(

2. Which repugs though?
If they're talking about Lincoln Chafee and Olympia Snowe (I'm betting that they are), then weren't these repugs against the tax-cut-for-the-uber-wealthy to begin with?

8. A few posters here were worried about the Dems "supporting"
the $87 billion. I think they know this opens a whole can of worms. Even the GOP knows Bush is fiscally irresponsible, and exploding deficits are becoming a huge problem Bush apparently cares nothing about.

9. Think what we are dealing with here is this:
all these Congressmen will, in essence, give him the money because they don't want to be accused of desserting our military or the Iraqi people BUT the stumbling block is "how to pay for it"---get the picture of the TRAP that's coming for him?? He isn't going to waltz in and get it. And he's going, you can bet, to stomp around the country trying to sell it "his way". But these guys aren't buying. They will demand the "how to pay" be combined with the asking AND, I also heard it reported today that they will demand that asshole cough up an "exit strategy". Understand, please, people the difference between the Congress actually having to fork out for this and what they are going to demand of Bush before they do.

...for almost three years.

The Repulikkkan's for years have cried and cried about how things would be 'different' if they EVER had the kind of control they have now.

I guess the verdict is clear; the Repukes cannot run this country- period.

It's time to put this myth of Republican's being fiscally responsible to rest; and as for their ability to secure the nation- well that seems pretty self-evident too.

12. if this happens, and then the economy improves...
then trickle-down could be permanently discredited, along with a whole lot of Bush republicans. The dems could be set for a generation.

16. Good! And we need to support this *strongly*. There are many other things
that Bush has done that we can attack him on. This is the type of issue Democrats need to stand next to Bush in the rose garden over. Not the invasion of Iraq.
