Don't cut the heart out of SS -- V/Day message for Congress

Some version of this message is going to my senators and representatives tomorrow on Valentine's day. It can be read in at least two ways. Some of the Social Security "reform" plans, including Bush's, will basically kill the program. And almost none of them are addressing the safety net provisions for children, disabled, etc., so the program would lose what heart it does have.
