1. If it is, its a pretty dumb one...

This thing has all the elements of a major disaster. You know: sex, sex, and
homosexuality.

Also, it risks getting those is the media seriously pissed off. Bushco lives
and dies by its ability to control the media. What's left of true journalism
out there must be reeling.

2. Gannon/Guckert is tip of iceberg. Real Story: Propaganda
Let's see, three payola instances before the Gannon/Guckert story breaks (Armstrong Williams et al) and pre-existing CIA Operation Mockingbird media manipulation on-going (especially during wartime, mind you) and you also have the CIA stating that Hollywood and the media in general will be working with this administration....

And this is what you get. Propaganda supporting administration policies totally unrelated to the war effort.

Leonard Pitts, of the Miami Herald, just wrote about Gannon/Guckert and for DUers this should be required reading.
http://www.freep.com/voices/columnists/pitts18e_20050218.htm
which I found at the Detroit Free Press website. Pass it along.

Seems unlikely to me.

ON EDIT: I'm not saying rove & co aren't trying to make lemonade.

4. I wonder about the reverse
Will he attack Iran/Syria to distract everyone from his love for Gannon?

11. My thoughts exactly -- sort of a wag the dog scenario.
And is bushie Gannon's real ManDate and not Rove? Rove would be covering up for his boss -- finding a ManDate to keep him happy and occupied?

5. i think there's something deeper here.
bc this is such an obvious play: they pick the most unqualified person to be a "reporter", and then he asks such an oddball question that people start investigating. it remains to be asked whether rove & co are using this guy as a shield. the real story isn't about gannon at all, except for him to be used as a human shield against other media investigation.

this points to a deeper conspiracy to either get us in a war with iran, or syria, or order an air strike...

something is seriously wrong here. has anybody put it together yet? where's seymour hersh on this?

10. it's so easy!
if you remember, in the Simpsons, there were big problems at the nuke plant and Bart caught a 3 eyed fish, which was in the news, big time!.....the gov decided to investigate the plant...burns knew he was in trouble, but his advisers told him to run for govner, against the popular, very astute lady incumbent (texas gov ann richards, bush predecesor) who polls said, was a shoo in....so burns ran on 'tax cuts' and whipped her ass...lol! maybe the Simpsons is just a tv show etc but the point remains- pandering to the worst instincts of a people is always good politics (that was democracy's fatal weakness according to aristotle, plato etc)...and usually, both parties politic with the 'worst instincts' while in mind, never the easy route to victory....that was until the incredible anti hippie/counterculture backlash of the reagan bush era gop, when the worst intincts of the people were a tool the rightwing used to take control. the utter contempt for the people shown by the busheviks now simply reinforces the fact it was easy, so easy anyone could have done it, but only the likes of bush has the depraved mental working to do so....

13. Actually, I pray that Jimmy-Jeff will help us stop their propangda
and it will prevent their invasion of Iran/Syria.

Uncovering their lies and uncovering the complacency of the corporate media whores will help this nation. We might gain back some control of the media and the truth will be broadcasted and their lies investigated.
