5. But Bush brought honor and dignitude back to the WH
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 11:32 PM by tridim
and he's just like us. Expect lots of lame excuses from your Repuke friends in the next year.

I hope these gas prices put every fucking asshole who voted for Bush in the poor house. Don't let anyone tell you it's not his fault. Gas was about $1.00 in 2000, it's more than doubled in the 4 years since Bush stole the election. Bush and Cheney are oil men, and their best friends are also oil men. There's nothing fuzzy about that math.

3. OPEC
Said that they would raise the price of oil to $85/barrel in the summer. I, for one, welcome our overpricing oil whoring overlords.

4. Noticed there are more cars on the road than SUVs lately...people are
pulling out the cars, and parking the gas hogs SUVs. I still have my little 4 cyl. Toyota. Its old, but it still gets great gas mileage. "Buckle your seat belts...It's gonna be a bumpy ride."

6. I'm glad to see it
in a way, maybe it'll get rid of the SUVs. The bad thing is I live in an area with apparently NO bus service at all (I tried researching it and it appeared there was a great bus service, but the website LIED).

I try to drive as little as possible. Unfortunately, Mr Gaia has to drive 20 miles to work. We'll be switching cars since my car gets about 3 mpg more than his. Wahh, I don't want to drive his car, I don't like the way it handles.

9. ditto
This is really a small price to pay compared with the rest of the civilized world. We may feel a short term pinch but in the long run this will encourage conservation and alternative energy sources. Europe pays $4-5 a gallon and are doing just fine.

10. damn oil prices
It was 6 degrees this morning and the furnace has forgotten how to turn off. The oil truck left 365 gallons the other day and even heating oil is over $2.00 a gallon. If I could locate an affordable piece of south facing land, I'd build and earthship and live off the grid and without a furnace.

13. Gas Prices Will NEVER Be An Issue As Long As..
The southeast has CHEAP gas. Until they pay $2.25 a gallon, it willnot be a political issue.
Jst as everything else, the Northeast and West Coast feel the effects more than the dear sweet South.

19. Wasnt it this month - March - that Iran was to start a Euro Oil Market ???
How are they doing with that? What was its' start date ? I think this March run up in prices is a direct result, but I am seeing NO DISCUSSION of it anywhere,,,,even on DU.

Some discussion as the war of words on Iran was ramping up in January about how Iran was starting a new oil trading market with a 'market basket' of currencies to be the determining price for oil, but they were going to make the EURO the top one. This is exactly what Saddam was talking about and starting to do before we invaded.

So is this latest run up a reflection of this new 'market' and the coming preeminence of the Euro. Is the world fighting Bush with the Euro?????
