Fund started to appeal Donna Frye case to CA Supreme Courtt
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 02:54 AM by Liberty Belle
Count Every Vote San Diego, a new group, has formed for the purpose of raising funds to bring the principle of counting EVERY vote before the California Supreme Court.

CEV is raising money to appeal the case of Lawrence v. Murphy to the California Supreme Court. This case was filed by a voter whose vote for Democratic write-in candidate Donna Frye was not counted. Why? Because the voter didn't fill in the bubble beside the line on which he clearly wrote-in the name "Donna Frye". If these unbubbled write-in ballots were counted, Frye would win by over 3,000 votes. But the Registrar has refused to count these ballots, leaving Republican mayor Dick Murphy to reign over a scandal-written City teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.

It will cost an estimed $100,000 to bring this case before the California Supreme Court, which has a record of liberal decisions.

If you believe that it's important to establish a legal principal that every vote must be counted, please make a check payable to Count Every Vote San Diego and mail it to:
