I'm thinking about pouring motor oil on an Alaska state flag and sending
it to Landrieu, Inouye, and Akaka.

Is this illegal in some way...cause I'm really in the mood for a symbolic mass mail movement, I don't think there's been one since we sent fruitcakes (a la Pete Stark) to McInnis in 03.

We need to do something as a group to let these jerks know how badly they have pissed people off.

1. I'm sure there is a better way to stain the flag
and make it seem like it is oil. I think the postal office would throw it out because it smelled so bad and just like a highly flammable liquid.

3. there has to be something we can do.
Barbara Boxer's roses made the news, and they need to have it brought home how upsetting this is to all of us.

4. It wont get through anyway, I wouldn't bother
They screen all of their packages, very closely. And with the Patriot Act, it's not wise to send something flammable.

6. Or send a photo of it burning with a letter

They don't give Senators packages. They go through them and do not give them any food items or suspicious stuff.

They will just throw it out but FIRST they will test it. That costs US in tax dollars. They just had another anthrax scare, any wierd particles will be tested. And YOUR NAME will be attached to that.

7. Send 'em this . . .

tell 'em, it may be only oil, but it may as well be blood for all the damage their vote will cause.

12. Am I the only one...
who thinks this is a over-hyped issue? We're not talking about clear-cut logging or strip mining here, it's drilling for oil. Ranches all over Texas have oil derricks on them, and somehow the wildlife as well as the livestock seem to get along just fine. Not to mention the Gulf Coast is still one of the greatest saltwater sportsfishing areas in the US, even with hundreds of Natural Gas and Oil platforms all through the Gulf. As far as I can tell, only a miniscule speck of land would have to be changed for drilling, with most of the activity going on underground, (with the exception of a pipeline). I dunno, I'm from Texas so maybe I'm biased.
