Here is the 'link popularity' of several Dominionist sites. It's kind of scary.

http://www.jprcc.org - 48 (Limited Presence)

http://www.chalcedon.edu - 20,305 (Large Presence)

http://www.hisglory.us - 10,107 (Above Average Presence)

http://www.christ-college.edu - 3,578 (Average Presence)

1. I just saw the film version of The Crucible for the second time;
at this moment *everything* that reeks of "christianity" or any other variety of religionism is "scary" to me.

2. I think we're less than 10 years from "The Handmaiden's Tale"
It's worse that that?

"BiggJawn, will you come with us?"

"Why?"

"Your truck was in your driveway all morning. Did you go anywhere?"

"No, It's Sunday. I sleep in on Sunday, in fact you assholes got me out of bed."

"You're under arrest for Failure to Worship, then."

8. Funny, I feel like I've been living in a strange mix of the Twilight
Zone, 1984 and The Handmaid's Tale for the last few years. I gave a friend a copy of The Handmaid's Tale and she couldn't finish it 'cause it was scarin' the shit out of her.

3. I know how popular it is, and I've been trying to tell people forever.
Check the polls. 40% of Americans consider themselve to be "evanglical Christians." Now I know that many of them are good, reasonable people, and some are even liberal, but most of them are right wing, and some are Rapturist, theocratic nutcases.

5. evangelical Christians and Dominionist
are peas and carrots.

Maybe 1% to 2% of evangelical Christians are Dominionist.

The vast majority of evangelical Christians would think being a "Dominionist" is a master Domino player. They would have no idea what you are talking about.

Your fears are greatly misplaced.

Even Christ said: Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

6. You're right, but the leaders of the evangelical movement,
like Dobson, Falwell and Robertson, are very much theocratic. The vast majority of evangelical Christians are not, but they still follow these leaders and are duped into voting against their own self interests. Obviously, the vast majority of evangelicals do not want a theocracy, but they'll continue to vote for the person Falwell supports, and then they end up voting for an agenda they don't really support.

7. The concept of "free will" is not antithesis to
the evangelical Christian mind.

To imply that they are all easily duped is accusing them of violation of a evangelical Christians core principal:

They are accountable to God, not to a man or an organization.

There are some that are sheep and will follow whoever tickles their ears at that moment, but most vote their conscience regardless of who bleats the loudest.

9. Most vote for abortion or homosexuality issues, no matter what other
'unChristian' stuff is going on. I disagree with you. I think there is remarkably little independent thought among this group. It's what makes fundamentalists fundamentalists. They act on faith without reason.

10. Of course they have free will, but when the leaders
of any movement take a position, the people will follow. 78% of white evangelicals voted for Bush. This is not a coincidence.

I wish there were more evangelical leaders who stressed the economic and foreign policy issues, because on those, evangelicals would be much more inclined to vote for Dems. As of right now, their leaders tell them to vote based on abortion and gay marriage, and they are listening.

11. These people don't follow "Christ"
He was too wimpy for their tastes.
They're all stuck on Leviticus. Now THERE'S some "Hellfire and Brimstone" a guy can get his teeth into!

"The vast majority of evangelical Christians would think being a "Dominionist" is a master Domino player."

Well, I have to agree with you there. How some of those people learned to breath is beyond my comprehension....

4. Time for Christ to come round, in whatever form, and deal them a hand
they can understand. If it's dominion they want, then it's dominion they just might get... even if they are on the other end of it.... how sad.
