if you have one of those little black boxes attached to your TV. I imagine most of those little black boxes are attached to TVs in the "heartland" of the United States. I've never heard of anyone in my area getting one from Nielson.

I can't stomach them myself, but I will stop there occasionally to see what the nazi talking points are from time to time.

10. Here's how ratings work...

Two methods. 1) the "black box" on your television that records the channel your televison is on.

2) Diaries. Actual paper diaries that you fill out as you watch television, that recors the channel, time spent watching and number of people in the room.

TiVo takes notice of what you watch, but that information is not shared or sold. It is used to help your machine "suggest" shows to record for you.
