Curt Shilling is an asshole.
Did anyone catch his quip about "Democrats" being the reason for why the roids hearing was being overblown? What a jerk...

2. I'm a Red Sox fan and I hate his stinking, Bush-worshipping guts
It's a good thing he can pitch, because otherwise he'd be run out of Boston by a lynch mob.

5. I'm surprised that he didn't have the little neo-nazi US lapel flag signal
Apparently, US flag lapel pins are a little secret signal among Repukes to signal a like-minded bastard. He must have forgotten his today.

3. So is Bush lying when he took credit for the steroid investigation, Kurt?
Was that not Bush pointing to steroid abuse in baseball in his State of the Union speech last year, Kurt?

4. thank you
I half-heard it, and looked up to see Palmeiro guffaw with him. I didn't catch all of his reference, but I knew it had something to do with Congressional Democrats.

He made me *sick* throughout that whole hearing.

7. Curt Schilling is a self-aggrandizing asshat
There are 45 million people in this country with no health insurance, yet steroids in baseball is something worthy of Congressional attention?

Let these assholes deal with the health problems they'll have in their later years from using these substances. And see if I give them any sympathy.

By the same token, I think baseball should review all of these home run records that have been shattered in recent years. I've never been impressed with the McGwires, the Sosas and the Bonds because they're playing with drugged-up bodies and hitting in all of these new hitter-friendly parks with souped-up baseballs.

Like somebody recently said, "If these athletes didn't think the steroids were enhancing their performances, then why are they taking them?"

Cripe, my grandmother could smack 50 HRs a year under those circumstances.

8. Waxman made him look like an asshole, seems Mr. Shilling made a
number of comments concerning the amount of steroid use in baseball and how bad it was; then failed to back them up on the stand. Waxman read him his previous statements and asked Curt whether he was being truthful when he initially made them. Curt was caught between a rock and a hard spot. (Are you lying now or were you lying then). Curt, the baby Jesus doesn't like lying jerks.

ANOTHER REpublican Hypocrite!!

By the way, fuck you Curt; I couldn't even enjoy the Sox Championship for a whole 24 hours. You had to go whore for Bush the very next day.

Vote for Pedro!

10. I did, he's an asshole
What was best was his own quotes about knowing so 'many players are on the juice' read to him as the last "question" -- he agrees that those were his statements then goes on to say that he made a mistake and didn't really know any one on the juice.

LIAR. Republican. Nuff said.

11. Was he sworn in? If so, isn't his "mistake" considered lying to Congress?
Hypothetically speaking, of course...

14. Don't
you love when a player who makes millions of dollars thanks to his STRONG union turns towards the anti-union republicans. Curt Schilling and the players like him will destroy the baseball union, which is what GWB and his fellow baseball owners have wanted for years. One can only hope that the future ballplayers will personally thank Schilling for backing anti-union republicans personally at every old timers day. I also hope every John Kerry Red Sox fan personally thanks him for his support in the last election. Please boo this guy off my favorite team.

16. Unfortunately,
Schilling is not the only professional athlete who supports the repubs. About steroids, what I don't get is that these folks make their living using their bodies and they don't know what they were putting into them? They probably know more of what goes into their expensive cars than they do their own bodies. Unfortunately, too many ballplayers are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
