There's no logic in this Pope election stuff
We're told the Pope's infallible. Does he become infallible on election by the College of Cardinals, or was he infallible all along and didn't know it.
Is God supposed to speak through the C of C so they vote for the right guy? If so, why don't all of them hear the Voice of God when they're voting? Don't they often go through several ballots?
If God is speaking through the C of C and they finally get it right and vote someone in, why are they saying that they don't want a young guy because they don't want to get stuck with his policies for 30 years or more if they disagree with him - isn't he supposed to be chosen by God and infallible?
Either God's telling them what to do or - he/she/it isn't.
If there is a God and the Pope is chosen through the C of C after getting the Word from up there, they can't go saying it's got to be some old guy who won't last long - just in case they don't like him after all.

2. There is no logic in RELIGION.
What makes you think some bizarre, archaic and ancient rituals to appoint a figurehead who does nothing has any actual relativity to our lives?

Oh wait, that sounds almost like the last 2 US elections.

5. The 'infallibility' myth.
It's important to recognize that the doctrine of Papal infallibility only pertains to rulings ex cathedra on matters of faith and morals. Even the recent history of the Roamn Catholic Church is replete with reversals and contradictions of Papal positions, even in matters covered in encyclicals. For example, it's my understanding that, at least up until John Paul II, Church positions on birth control and contraception have not been taken ex cathedra and, as such, are reversable.

6. Relates to what I was wondering
Is there somebody to do stuff while there is no pope? Kinda like an interim pope? If so, does he (we know it'll never be a she) have temporary infallibility?

Just wondering

8. No, there is no interim pope. I believe that no
work will be done until the new pope
is chosen.
