Why is it NOW ok for Dole to talk about HIS military accomplishments?
Edited on Tue Apr-12-05 10:45 PM by Bouncy Ball
If you'll recall (and yes, I started a new thread about this, but I think this is a pretty damn big hypocrisy here), during the campaign season of 2004, DOLE and other republicans made a BIG DAMN DEAL out of saying that Kerry shouldn't go around talking about his military accomplishments. That veterans "just don't do that." They chided him, tsk-tsked him, and tore him up every chance they got for it.

Well GUESS who's got a book out now ALL about his military accomplishments and how he got hurt in the war?

DOLE.

Guess who's on every single radio and talk show, pimping said book?

DOLE.

Hmmm, so let me see if I have this straight:

It's ok to brag about your military accomplishments IF YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN.

It's ok to slam, smear and slander (UNTRUTHFULLY) a fellow veteran IF YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN.

It's ok to MAKE FUN OF A MEDAL many many courageous veterans have received IF YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN.

Gotcha.

Biggest bunch of hypocrites I have ever seen or heard of in my LIFE.

I want someone to ask Dole why it's suddenly ok for HIM to go around talking all about his military accomplishments, when they bitch-slapped Kerry for doing the SAME DAMN thing just a few months ago?

1. Terri Gross asked him that today -

The interview was about his book. But she did ask Dole about the swift boat liars ganging up on Kerry; someone who had obviously gone through a war, and she made a loose association to Dole's experiences. Damn bastard said he couldn't comment on it cause he wasn't there, but he didn't think a couple of hundred men would lie about such a thing.

:banghead:

2. Oh. My. God.
So he's even STICKING TO IT?

Bastard. That's all he is is a slimy bastard. And I hope freepers QUOTE me on that. That's just lower than a snake's belly. No honor, DOLE HAS NO HONOR. Yes they hell they WOULD lie and they DID. That stupid book was discredited ten ways to Sunday and the freaking US NAVY stood behind Kerry's service record.

Hell's bells, they didn't want to open up THAT Pandora's Box of questioning people's service records, because that means THEIRS is up for grabs, too.

That's the way it goes when you start flinging mud, can't help but get it on yourself, too.

4. Yeah, he's sticking to it.
And you're absolutely correct - Dole has no honor, and chose not to defend a fellow soldier who was smeared ten ways til Sunday. All in the name of politics.

He's a disgusting, slimy maggot.

6. And so is his wife
When she ran for the Senate, Wal-Mart sent out brochures to people all over North Carolina. On the cover was a photo of Elizabeth Dole in front of an American flag. Wal-Mart said they'd been planning this mailing for a long time (right!) so they weren't fined for sending out free campaign lit.

It figures that Wal-Mart would back Elizabeth Dole. The Doles are big time hypocrites.

7. It pisses me off
Kerry has every right to be proud of his service and his anti-war protesting. He saw the truth in the Vietnam war for what it is. I hate these people for smearing Kerry. All the way from the SBVT fuckers and John O'Neil to the purple heart bandaid shit at the RNC convention.

8. During the campaign Dole actually said
that he thought Kerry didn't bleed enough. Then it turned out that Dole accepted a Purple Heart for a superficial wound, as he admitted in his autobiography.
