Cease the illusion : The US is no longer a "superpower".
We forfeited that title when we invaded another sovereign nation. The superpower status is only maintained so long as the rest of the world agrees with the title. The actions of this Administration has shown the world the weaknesses of our military - not the strengths of our military.

Other nations see a country where the "voluntary army" is quickly becoming a relic of the past. The see a nation that is desperate for recruits to fight their illegitimate wars. The latest offer is that rather than 3 or 4 years, new recruits can sign up for just 15 months. But anybody that volunteers for the military today more than likely weighs the risks with the benefits. And understandably so...

Yes, we are spending more money on defense than all the other countries in the world combined. We are also running debt and deficits that are larger than the world's , also. The decisions of the "neo-cons" now in power in Washington have knocked the US out of the so-called "superpower" status, in my humble opinion. We are closer to a third world nation than we are to a "superpower.

1. I'm just glad that China isn't pushing their weight around too much
They're going to start sucking up most of the world's oil pretty soon. And it worries me that they are making essential parts to some of our missiles. That doesn't seem too smart to me.

2. Shit, the US no longer exists!
The corporations are running the world. National governments are an illsionary tool to keep the masses quiet while all the laws are changed to what the corporate thugs want.

5. The Resistance Lives!
Of course we are a superpower- just a superpower out of control at the moment. And if we can't straighten our course...

Yes, corporations have the upper hand to a great extent, but they are not monolithic nor omnipotent.

Democracy is comatose but it is not dead.

8. Throughout history, all superpowers have been "out of control"...
Concentration of power is a VERY bad idea.

just about every category for the last 5 years at least, health, energy, technology and heading further down. So it's not only military, you can now add financial too, with our dollar almost worthless, I keep dreaming of winning the million and moving to Canada, but I'd lose half that million just by moving....(but I'm beginning to think it would be worth it...)

On edit: forgot to add taking care of our poor & elderly and education...
