Rice still lying to Americans, this time American Troops.
On her surprise visit to Iraq this weekend, Rice told our troops:
"This war came to us, not the other way around."

Obviously she is referring to the 9/11 attacks. However, we on DU all know of the Downing Street memo that says the intelligence on Iraq was fixed. We also had Richard Clarke and Paul O'Neill both say before the war that Bush knew Iraq was not involved in 9/11 but had wanted to attack Saddam even before 9/11.

Bush, himself, admitted that there was no connection between Saddam and 9/11:

Yet, the Secretary of State, still lies about it to our troops.
Disgraceful.

2. Trust me
You are not the only one so disgusted by that remark and all it means. DU rules prevent me from telling you my harshest true feelings that come to mind regarding our great secretary of state.

3. And you know what else?

I am damn sick of the administration getting constant praise for doing the bare minimum of their job requirements.

Rice gets credit for this "suprise visit", and also gets credit for "trying to reach out to our allies".

Well, duh! Of course she is doing that. Its her fucking job!

BTW, have you ever noticed that since 9/11 the administration has been trying to steal lines from history and movies to make this seem more noble and epic?

One of my favorite annoyances is "We didn't ask for this war"

Bullshit they didn't!

If they didn't ask for this war, and no one could have forseen it, why did so many people make jokes in late 2000 and early 2001 about Bush taking us to war with Iraq?

EDIT: Bush even said in the 2000 debates that he wants to remove Saddam by force.
