Why?

Why is military recruiting is quickly turning into a home-front disaster? Why is ROTC recruitment is down 16% over the past two years? Why is active-duty Army recruitments 27% below the goal for February 2005, despite a $20,000 recruitment bonus? And why did the Army miss its April recruitment target by a whopping 42%.

I wonder why when this country is suppose to be more patriotic than ever before. I wonder when the Bush supporters are 100% behind the Iraqi war. I wonder when while at war, more men and women are needed to sign up and fight for what they believe is the preservation of our nation.

So I ask. Why aren't the conservative patriotic supporter signing up? Why?

Riiiiiiiight. MND is notoriously RW.

Men are not stupid. They have learned that when they are patriotic and join the military, the chances are better than 50% that they will end up divorced and come home to a huge child support debt and perhaps even a jail cell on criminal nonsupport charges.

But of course, the recruitment problems are all the greedy wives and kids' faults.

Give me an effing break.
