Pew Center Poll: Bush Approval Down To 43%, Even 53% Of GOP Supports Filibusters

(Graphic courtesy of the Pew Center)

Many of us believe that the scorched earth, “ends justifies the means” approach taken by Bush and Rove usually means that they don’t care how they win or how badly the political environment is poisoned while winning; all that matters to them is that they win regardless of how close the margin of victory. That approach may be finally harming the White House. The latest Pew Center poll, taken over the weekend, now has Bush’s approval rating falling to 43%, which is down 6% just since March.

answered from their bathrooms because they are so equivocal that they can't decide whether to shit or get off the pot either.

40. I personally think that a small percentage of people say they
approve of * when they don't because they are afraid to say what they believe to as stranger over the phone. Remember the guy in F9/11 who called cuckoo bananas an asshole and got an FBI visit? The undecideds are a small step higher on the lack of cowardice scale.

42. Well, imagine what it REALLY is, without all the rigged polling.
I think even 33% (the percentage of America allegedly still locked up in fundie madness) is generous, since there are probably at least a few of the zealots who don't think Bush is fascist ENOUGH. They want to know why women are still allowed to work and own property and factor that into their "disapproval" of Bush.

12. Expect Karl to set off a large explosion soon...
The only way Karl & Co will get Shrub's numbers back up is some home grown domestic terrorism..say, a power plant gets bombed...or the Golden Gate Bridge gets shut down due to "a direct terrorist threat" or Wrigley Field is evacuated due to vague threats.

Knowing what these guys have done in the past, something's gonna happen.

NEVER FORGET that the PNAC's Rebuilding America's Defenses noted how it would take a "catostrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor" to foster the process of transformation.

Rebuilding America's Defenses was published in September, 2000. One year later, guess what? We had a catostrophic and catalyzing event. (that would be 9/11)

These bastards will stop at nothing..NOTHING!!!

24. No, it's not a moot point
The lower the approval ratings, the less support he will have from his Repuke controlled Congress, which of course means less extreme measures. They have to be concerned about getting re-elected.

34. I predict 65% by fall 2006.
Remember. Anything's possible with Commander Cuckoo Bananas in charge.

We're one Israeli airstrike away, or one suicide bomber away, from a war with Iran. He's still got that old magic, and the press, as well as a lot of people who really got the endorphins revved up after September 2001, can't wait to wave the flag again.

39. Or, the opponent's approval will be even less.
Whereas my family was unsure of Bush one was certain Kerry had "shot himself in the foot to get a medal." Truth lacks import when continuous attacks make believing a lie the easier path.

A new terror attack may not be as positive for Bush.
