The 3 ways Newsweek fucked up
1. It failed to emphasize that the violence in Afghanistan predated the controversial article, and, according to the Chairman of the Jonit Chiefs of Staff, had little to do with the article.

2. It failed to be clear as to what, exactly, it was apologizing for: saying that a government report found evidence of desecration. Newsweek was not, and should not have been, apologizing for saying that desecration took place, but only for saying that this specific government report confirmed it.

3. Stop relying on single anonymous sources to support serious allegations.

5. Duh
What are we supposed to expect from shitty mainstream media. There are many other spectacular print-news sources. The best of these, obviously, is The Onion.

6. and Nightline - one of the most important news sources will be gone too.
They've succeeded in scaring or getting rid of most of the other "enemies of the state." Bill Maher, Dan Rather/60 minutes.

Meanwhile, the biggest liar of the bunch gets away scot free: Faux News.
