After listening to the right good Rev. Kennedy, from Coral
Whatever it is, I have come to realize that China, India, and a lot of other nations do not exist because they do not have God embedded in their government. This is according to an interview on NPR today.

The man is a dangerous whacko and if he gets his way, we will find ourselves living in a theocracy.

1. I heard that too
He is an absolute fanatic. He wants AmeriKan Theocracy and has for over fourty years.

At least the next guest put it into pwerspctive and laid their agenda bare. He also handily refuted most of Dr. Whacos talking ponts. I believe I will buy his book as well.

8. Yes indeed...
I have known for quite a while about the influence of the Fundie Law schools. I had no idea how far the reconstructionists played a role in all of this. It is downright chilling.

2. I research the Religious Right ..
and, in my humble opinion, he is a Dominionist of the worst sort.

Google 'Center for Reclaiming America' and 'Coral Ridge Ministries.' He was President of the former, and I believe is still on the Board (he founded it), and is the Pastor of the second.

At a recent conference in Florida, called 'Reclaiming America for Christ,' the attendees recited the following pledge:

“I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the Savior for whose kingdom it stands. One Savior, crucified, risen and coming again, with life and liberty for all who believe.”

He reportedly was a member of the notorious secretive policy organization, The Council for National Policy, and is reportedly a member of the organization, the Arlington Group, whose purpose is to gather characters like him and Dobson, and influence government policy. Reportedly, these leaders have weekly dialogue with Rove.

3. Also a BIG supporter of Amway
I just read "Masters of Deception", an Amway expose, and it has shaken me to my core.

I mean, not that I didn't know before about Amway being corrupt, but I now know they are the model for our current misadministration.

Other big Amway supporters include Falwell, DeLay, and Santorum, just to name some of the most disgusting.

4. I want to read that book one day!
I once had, 20 years or so ago, when I was much younger, a boss who gave me a free Amway kit, and tried to get me to sell Amway.

My boyfriend, now my husband of 20+ years, discouraged that idea.

13. He gives out an award
It's called something like the Christian Politician of the Year -- although it's an even more sickening phrase. His award winners have included DeLay and Ashcroft.

He is, indeed, a very dangerous man and has been more of a behind the scenes man until recently. One who seems to be wanting to imitate his style is Rick Scarborough of Pearland, TX and the power behind the recent judicial intolerance conference. (Not Justice Sunday but the one where they were quoting Stalin.)

17. I just found that out:
("The Distinguished Christian Statesman Award")

from the website:

Here's the Goal... Reach for It!

... (snip)

For too long, the goal of politics has been power, or prestige, or pet policies. With this annual award, we set out to change that goal—and thus transform the very matrix ofThe Distinguished Christian Statesman Award public service. The bottom line is this: we don't simply want to attach Christian labels to the “game” of politics; we want to transform the game altogether! We want Christian statesmanship to become the answer to why anyone should seek public service.

... (snip)

2004 Representative John Hostettler
2003 The Honorable Kay Coles James
2002 Representative Tom DeLay
2001 Representative J.C. Watts
2000 Senator Sam Brownback
1999 Majority Leader Dick Armey
1998 Senator Dan Coats
1997 Chief Justice Roy Moore
1996 Senator John Ashcroft

(End of quote)

Look at that, and tell me you aren't sick to your stomach!

Well, it always was a big lie anyway. At least he's honest about it. "I just wanna kill 'em all!"

11. The most Prominant Christian Reconstructionists.....
Edited on Wed May-18-05 07:05 PM by leftchick
1. George Grant who was the No.2 at the Coral Ridge Ministries. He wants the death penalty for all homosexuals.

2. Gary Demar (sp?) Writes History and other curriculum for Christian Homeschoolers.

3. RJ Rushdooney (sp?) wants Institution of Biblical Law.

I need to google all of these Freaks and find out more.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY!

I also need to read the second guest, Frederick Clarkson 's book. He was a huge relief after listening to that whacko kennedy..

http://www.frederickclarkson.com/eh.php

Reviews of Eternal Hostility: The Struggle Between Theocracy and Democracy

“Of all of the books which have been written on the religious right, Frederick Clarkson has authored the best. Eternal Hostility is authoritative, yet readable, and covers the variety of far right groups as no work has ever done.”

Rev. John Swomley, The Humanist magazine <[link>]
“…veteran journalist Frederick Clarkson makes a compelling case that the ‘theocratic right’ is steadily gaining political power in American and poses a real threat to the constitutional freedoms of all of us...

... thoroughly documented, richly detailed and eminently readable, this single volume gives a near comprehensive overview of American theocratic politics.

In his final chapter, Clarkson outlines a plan of action to respond to the theocrats. Supporters of liberty, he says, must reclaim American history, register and mobilize voters, carefully research the theocratic right, identify and expose the movement’s contradictions and weaknesses, and practice democratic values… Eternal Hostility is essential reading for every American who cares about freedom. No book on the market offers a better description of the Religious Right and why that movement must be contained.”

Joseph L. Conn, Church & State magazine
“…a searing account of growing Christian Nationalist movements that is intended to put us on notice: American pluralism as we have know it for 200 years, is seriously threatened. His probing report is thorough and amazingly readable – and includes the words and voices of both leadership and rank and file members of groups including the Christian Coalition, the Unification Church of Sun Myung Moon, the all-male Promise Keepers, and the Reconstructionists who believe that Biblical law represents a viable and desirable form of governance.”

Eleanor J. Bader, The Public Eye magazine
