Murdoch is a plutocrat. His ideology is whatever makes money; he's a right-winger only because he can get richer sucking up to the corporatists and the wingnuts. A photo of Saddam in his knickers -- as creepy as that is -- will sell newspapers. What else matters?

Whenever michael steals all the attention, she gets jealous and does something really insane, just to see her name in print.
