Rushs's racist comments on ESPN - e-mail campaign against him
Media Whores is stealing a play from the right-wingers handbook and starting a campaign against Limbaugh...

http://www.mediawhoresonline.com/
RACIST RUSH MUST GO!
ESPN : How Low Can You Get?
Viewers Furious At Latest Limbaugh Racist Outbursts

Three on-the-air racist outbursts by Rush Limbaugh in recent days have left normal, patriotic Americans outraged -- and demanding that at long last something be done about this bigot.

First, according to a report by Bob Beckel, in response to the temporary stay of the California recall vote, Limbaugh lashed out at those who would provide equal voting machines for all voters, saying the blacks and Hispanics were "too stupid" to vote anyway.

..........

Email ESPN apprising them of Rush Limbaugh's latest racist outbursts and demand that he be removed from their airwaves
Call the NAACP (1-877-622-2798) and the NFL Players' Association (1-800-372-2000), and email the Black Coaches' Association, and the Jackie Robinson Foundation, apprising them of Rush Limbaugh's latest racist outbursts and asking that they look into the matter and speak out against ESPN's showcasing of Limbaugh on its pro football broadcasts.

28. i jump on any chance to jump on rush but....
it's obvious he really really likes being a sports guy. it was his first love and i think his true love. has anyone considered the possibility that if he does well in this gig it will adversly affect his radio show? locals here are already complaining about how much time he takes off to do the football stuff. they are getting turned off because they sense his heart isn't in it.

is it possible that he might be tiring of ole' EIB? maybe ready to hang up the old golden micraphone and do what he's always wanted to do?

maybe i'm just dreaming but AFAIC, the more he has success with the sports gig, the less attention he pays to feeding the neocons so i will not bite on this one.

3. My e-mail:
I am appalled at what ESPN has decided constitutes as legitimate Football analysis by that bigoted, arrogant, misogynistic, homophobic, pathologically lying blowhard Rush Limbaugh who is about as pleasant to endure in his sideline archair commentary as it would be to sit through a weekly support group for overweight, feminine hygenically-challenged, transexual Lucille Ball impersonators.

I will not watch ESPN sports of any kind and will do my best to avoid supporting its sponsors as long as that sewage-throated, cyst-sporting, bile-inducing, cro-magnon is allowed to spout his nonsense on its network.

4. I've sent a couple of emails
This vile, racist creature started his ESPN career by complaining about the NFL minority hiring rules.

He hates all non-white people. Degrading them and their history is his bread and fucking butter.

I still expect Tom Jackson to say something, but even if he does, I won't see it. No more ESPN for me.

Not that I could watch it anymore anyway. Since Disney bought it, they cannot show sports without "producing" it. Truly stupid, very distracting, especially since I don't watch tv much and am unaccostomed to the strobe flashes and subliminal advertising bursts that bookmark every single thing they show.

Phew. I miss sports, but what can you do? ESPN is now total shit.

10. here's a good start!
http://www.bobbeckel.com/rush.php

two paragraphs:

After learning the 9th circuit of the US Court of Appeals had ordered California to halt the recall vote scheduled for 10/7/03 Rush Limbaugh lost it and maybe lost some sponsors as well. Rush said that blacks and Hispanics were “too stupid” to use the machines. As to the allegation that there are too few voting precincts in minority areas for the 10/7 recall Limbaugh said that location “didn’t matter since blacks and Hispanics were bused to precincts anyway”.

Today 8/26/03 Rush made fun of the 40th anniversary of Dr King’s march on Washington. Just look at those people they have nothing to say feel sorry for them. Rush one of those people was Rep. John Lewis who marched with Dr King and was beaten repeatedly by rightwing racists. He called for hope and noted progress in his speech Sat. Were you on the golf course and missed that Rushbo. By the way ever talk about the rightwing cowards from your state of Missouri who for years lynched defenseless blacks and never prosecuted. John Lewis did more at the Pettis Bridge for this country than you’ll do in your lifetime Rushbo.

an item on Media Whores...when I was going to write about the pigman...

You make excuse's that Bush can do no wrong, because as you keep stating... "everything changed on 9-11"...what the fuck does that mean? Bush gets a free ride because his administration was complicit? As he said fuck the UN...invaded Iraq for oil, republicans hate the UN and now they want the UN to offer troops and money...so when things go wrong Bush can blame the UN...of course that's what will happen and you know it will, but you pretend it's just policy, when it's the same thing...agenda and ideology.

As the rich are happy with the massive tax cuts, Bush and the boys robbed our treasury...our soldiers are being killed for gas pipelines and oil reserves, Bush and fascist like you don't care, right...ummm money, more money, money, never enough, greed, more money...Bush lied about the WMD, he lied to say Hussein was involved in 9-11 (as he now is backing off from) he lied about the imminent threat to the US, he lied when he told us he knew exactly where the weapons were...he's a liar, cares nothing about the environment, (except to allow deregulation for the oil, coal and lumber industries to exploit.) you don't give a fuck you just hop from five star hotel rooms to another five star hotel room, fuck our air and water as these polluters are allowed to pollute and the tax payers pay for the clean up.

You could care less about the social programs being gutted because there's no money purposefully left for the poor...you don't care, as long as you keep your summer house and third car, you convince yourself your being fair and noble...republican ideology hates ALL social programs, you know this...but they need the votes, so they can never get rid of these programs completely...just gut them to where they are completely ineffective, as the rich like Halliburton steal and lie about where our tax dollars are going.

AND YOU PROTECT THESE PEOPLE...WE HOPE YOU DIE SOON...AND YOU WILL AND WHAT WILL YOU LEAVE BEHIND BESIDES LIES AND BEING A SHILL FOR YOUR BACK SLAPPING GOOD OLE BOYS RIGHT-WINGERS, WHO SAY WOLFIE YOUR DOING A GREAT JOB????

Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 09:10 PM by Jacobin
Anybody here old enough to remember when Howard Cosell was IMMEDIATELY fired and was never seen again after announcing a football game during which (commenting on an African American player making a play) Cosell blurted out: "Look at that monkey RUN".

Now, mind you, it was deeply offensive, but I think it was a momentary lapse of stupidity and not based on some hatred of other ethnic groups. Didn't matter. He was canned within fricking hours.

These days, PigBoy can hurl racial epithets 24/7 to help shore up Smirky's hate based voters and he gets fricking PROMOTED.

I know he said it, I know he is repulsive, but it's hard to believe anyone could be that stupid.

I wrote and complained, even though I don't watch football. Having him on there legitimizes that ass clown, and it makes me very angry.

18. Oh, he surely is

I listened to his rant today in the car - it was almost surreal in its vitriol. After he finished w/the 9th Circuit and stupid minorities, he went (literally) off the deep end - he actually used the quote "long haired dope smoking hippies" to describe those of us on the correct side of the fence.

Fear and Loathing in EIB land.

BTW - he will be off tomorrow attending to some type of meeting - wonder if it has anything to do with the boys at ESPN and this bit of bigotry du jour.

22. Context Is Everything
Guys, I listen to this loudmouth every day, and while he may believe that minorities are stupid, this is not what he is saying.

If you hear his remarks in context, you know that he is accusing the ACLU and the three judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals of calling minorities stupid, because they suggest that they have more trouble figuring out how to vote than other people, and honestly, I see some truth in what he is saying.

If he had actually made any statement as blatantly racist as what some suggest, it would be all over the media, corporate and otherwise.

The machines should be updated before the election, but I can't understand why anyone would turn this into racial issue. I feel personally insulted by the remarks of ACLU reguarding minorities.

Maybe I am misinterpeting what the ACLU said; If so, I would apreciate someone clearing it up for me.

23. You're right about the context
He is certainly saying those things about "stupid minorities" as his perversion of the 9th circuit decision but the issue is the way he gleefully sounds off with it at every turn. He sounds so sickeningly cheerful when spouting the filth that it's very difficult for those of us with ears sensitive to bigotry to not be entirely convinced that he means every word of it and is only thrilled to be able to say it on the air, whether out oof his own personal opinion or not. He's a provocature and he's getting his kicks trying to be provocative with this issue and spin it in a racial direction. This makes him a blatant racist in my book.

29. You are correct in your definition of "context"
I, too, heard his entire "monologue" re: 9th Circuit at al. Even Pigboy is smart enough not to be OVERTLY racist, but covertly racist is another thing altogether. What he does with this tactic of "deflecting" his prejudices onto another source is nothing more than what * does when he says "Gee, how do I know why 70% of the public thinks Saddam=9/11 - I never said that".

Was there any mention made of "uneducated" people having trouble, or "disenfranchised" having trouble? How about the elderly? Of course not. By referring to these folks as "minorities" Pigboy conveys exactly what he intends to. This is nothing more than "of course I'm not a racist, why, some of my best friends are black" wrapped up in a pretty white bow. Remember, Clarence Thomas officiated at Rush's wedding!

Bigotry takes many forms - this is one of therm.

Oh , and welcome to DU! :)

If it was just on freep radio I doubt it will matter.
