Fox, MSNBC & CNN pundits immidiately following debate
Bill Kristol on Fox: Arianna is a pest. Arnold won.

Jerry Brown on MSNBC: I think Arianna had some great points. Arnold was caught in her trap.

CNN: Replay city, mostly Arianna.

It's funny to see the difference in coverage.

2. Arnold was a very distant 5th
He's not even in the same class. Arianna, Bustamonte, and the Green guy were the winners. McClintock is freaking scary, those eyes are pure evil. He is a smooth talker though.

18. Disagree..
McClintock did VERY well.

He will definitely be rising in the polls after this, at Arnie's expense.

5. I'll tell you who looked good ( not Arnold)
Edited on Wed Sep-24-03 09:39 PM by Capn Sunshine
McClintock. He was clearly not in Arianna's sights, and said a couple of things that even Camejo agreed with.

Camejo did a great job of articulating the caring , sensible approach of the greens, he landed a few excellent blows.

This was not a format for Cruz; he came off as the "incumbent".

Arianna was in her element in this format: it's just like the umpteen talk shows she's already been on and she put it to Arnold.

Arnold came off as a movie star who knew his lines; when forced to improvise he was hopelessly weak.

Compared to McClintock, he did not look good. No way McClintock drops out after this performance.

I guess Cruz' strategy of sitting back, being polite, and letting the other shred Arnold will serve him well.

Most of all, this pointed out how ridiculous the whole recall idea is.

Winner: Gray Davis.

11. Mclintock did the best
i despise him, but he didn't get caught up in any of the bullshit, he was on message the whole time, and kept things short and simple. if i was someone watching the the debate and not too interested in politics, McClintock would have impressed me.

Arianna was good, Cruz sucked, Camejo was "okay", and Arnold was pathetic. No way that dude should be allowed to govern anything.

Jesse Ventura going off on everythign on MSGOP was great

23. McClintock was great
of course on the wrong side of every issue I'm on
but he certainly ran circles around the Terminated.
I thought Cruz did very well also...good to be
calm and rational while Arnold and Arianna exchanged
personal barbs.

7. My thoughts
Cruz did amazing. Cool calm and collective.
Arianna got her point across but seemed kinda pushy.
Tom scared me with his crazy eye.
Arnold was a bumbling idiot.

24. Camejo wouldn't do too bad
And not only politically but for the state of California it would not be a BAD thing for us to get him in the governor's mansion. Too bad we only have 13 days to do it. If Camejo wins then Bush won't have a dem to use as a punching bag during the 2004 campaign, we will get a progressive in office who believes in what he says, and it would give us Greens a chance to prove ourselves as a viable political party. I don't really see a downside to this with the exception of Arnie losing the election, which isn't much of a downside.

Will the others get a chance? This is a fucking joke! Its bad enough that he's on Oprah and Leno and his 1 minute ads that are rammed down our throats out here. Plus Wolf Blitzer was puffing him up all damn day.

22. Tweety says
the Gobernator won.

The Bush standard for debate performance is applied. "He didn't wet himself" he must have won...

I thought Bustammonte and McClintock won. Of course, I also thought Gore won....

I agree with other posters MCClintock's eye thing is frightening. At least I don't live in Ca.
