This president embarrasses all of us with his constant deception. That policy may work some of the time but not all of the time.

5. That was disgusting
And I love their music too. They kick ass and are some Texans I like (same with Willie Nelson).

12. We're not all bad!
Texas may be the reddest state around, but that doesn't mean there aren't oases of blue.

17. And Texas is far from being the reddest state around.
That title probably belongs to Utah.

9. Toby Keith ...and Larry the Cable Guy...still dumping on the Chicks?
Does anyone know ? I thought this b.s. was a bit too much and was based on morons hoisting too many Butt-wipers myself.

Maybe they could all get together and do a show or something to buy 'hillbilly armor' for the Humvees ? Whaddaya think ?

4. I was never a Dixie Chicks fan until Natalie's statement!
Edited on Thu Jul-14-05 08:07 PM by samdogmom
Then, I bought all of their albums and made sure to support them every chance I got. Of course I knew they were "RIGHT" from day one!
I don't like country music, but the Dixie Chicks have grown on me.

8. Funny
I've been listening to their albums for the past few days. I teared up listening to Traveling Soldier. A poor young man being sent to fight, wanting nothing but to hold onto something good in the midst of all of it.

10. Their main point was how Bush is an embarrassment
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful and so are we. They never stop thinking of new ways to harm our country or our people and neither do we".

14. They Should Build a Shrine to Them, Now That We Have Caught Up
They had to wait a while before the truth came out and all these things developed, proving them right, but after they weathered the storm and suffered an astonishing level of abuse, now everyone must know that they were vindicated. Before Galloway and Wilson and Plame and all of the things that are starting to come together now, there was their great comment about Bush. I was very impressed right from the start, all the way through Clear Channel's phony campaign against them (pretending listeners were demanding that their music not be played)--followed up by their sold-out concert tour and #1 CD after that. I was also proud of Bruce Springsteen, who supported them publicly right away. They had to suffer through the abuse to be revealed as heroes and the First Sign of Things to Come.

Also, they did a beautiful version of Stevie Nicks's "Landslide," and that funny song about killing that abusive prick Earl. There are good people from Texas, and there are bad people from Texas, and the Dixie Chicks are true American heroes. They should do a song about this whole experience.

15. Got to see them on their last tour and was very impressed with
them. They really put on a show and if they ever come back this way, I'm gonna go again. Rock on, Chicks.
