2. I don't know, but I would say that it is regional as well...

Gay people in the South (I'm from Texas) are more likely to be Republicans than elsewhere, from my experience. Their philosophy seems to be more about less government, lower taxes (traditional conservative views), and really an almost libertarian platform. They think Democrats are idealists who want to give away the farm.

In other words, most homos are Dems, but definitely not all.

there can be more than one reason for something happening. Nader ran against Gore because he had a better chance of peeling off liberal votes than consevative votes. He lied about Gore, the Green party lied about Gore. Nader lied about the two men being the same. He knew it was a lie he knew it was damaging and he did it anyway.

Nader was, in fact, partially responsible for what happened. It is what he wanted, it is what he and the Green party worked for and it is what he and his party got. So there is no reason to give him a free ride. I doubt the Democratic party will make that mistake again.

I suggest the green/nader party stop whining about being held responsible for their actions. It was mistake, move on.

I'm going to have to guess that these numbers skew in favor of Dems, unless, of course, the model they use takes into account the willingness to indentify oneself as gay, depending on party affiliation.

was a lifelong Republican, until 2000. He voted for Gore because, 'I'm gay. It just doesn't make sense to vote Republican.' My uncle was so mad he stopped talking to him--not because he found out his son was gay, but because he became a Democrat, LOL.
