Creationist loon in Kansas, a pig at the trough
PZ Myers of Pharyngula.com had this item sent to him about creationist nutcase Connie Morris of the Kansas school board who ran through $10,000 in travel fees this year being a star on the religious wingnut circuit.

...

Questions about the travel budget surfaced in June when fellow board members took exception to the cost of Connie Morris' trip to a magnet schools conference in Miami Beach. The board pre-approved the trip without asking the cost, then balked when Morris, a conservative Republican from St. Francis, submitted the bill. The total came to $3,600 for the six-day stay and prompted the moderate minority board members to call for a review of the travel policy

The board's policy committee, which performed the review, is comprised of Morris; Carol Rupe, moderate Republican from Wichita; and Ken Willard, conservative Republican from Hutchinson They found no policy violations and made no recommendations for change but will meet again to reconsider.

....

"I have never seen a problem before," said Janet Waugh, moderate Democratic board member from Kansas City, Kan. "But some of the latest (travel) seems rather extravagant.

"I do not object to the trip (to Miami Beach) but I feel $339 a night is a little exorbitant, even for Miami Beach. I understand she could have stayed just next door for $150 a night. I have a problem with that now, with school districts having to make cuts.

At least they get to make cuts in education so conservatives can live like kings even for 6 days.

Who even needs to go to conferences to know what school kids need?

they need..

teachers
books
paper & pencils
recess
gym class
a clean and safe school

I've never been to a "conference", and I know that :)

They can e-mail me for free and I'll tell them what they should do :)

4. Wonder why they stayed in the most-gay part of Miami?
Put up posters in South Beach asking if anyone has slept with this person.
