1. Nope...I don't!
I think they have a prosecutor that doesn't play. They have no control. His boss appointed him special prosecutor and he knew what he was doing. Fitzgerald's boss is retiring this fall and I think he appointed Fitz because he was a take no prisoners kinda guy. If *shrub doesn't remove him as SP, then its gonna get ugly.....even if he did remove him it would still get ugly because everyone would know what he was up to.

4. Don't know. I'm not at all sure what the guy is up to. I keep hoping that
he turns out to be the rare hero that comes out of horrific government conspiracies. Someone who's loyalty is to the Constitution and the people.

I keep hoping.

2. I think they're (the cabal) running scared.
I don't think that * knows what Fitz is up to, but I think they all have their suspicions and they're trying to work up some new spins. Ya know, try to cover all the bases. But....I think it's too late.

btw-welcom to DU.

5. I think Bush just knows that his buds will take care of him; he is a
puppet, literally. They program him; he speaks--and can't even get that altogether right. He is forever blowing his programmed lines. They very likely pad him with deniability, and don't tell him much, for that reason, and for the reason that he is a nitwit and an incompetent. So who knows what he knows? He probably thinks in black and white terms--good guys, bad guys (pro-me, against-me)--and rightfully figures that he himself will be completely insulated from any consequences of his buds' behavior, by his vast wealth, by the fraternity pact among the rich and powerful (can't have a former US president in jail, no matter what he did--it's unthinkable!), and by the Dems' desire to get on with it, rule in the Middle East and consolidate the gains of the Corporate Rulers at 'home.'

Yikes, I'm growing very cynical this evening. That IS what I think of Bush, his buds, and the other forces in play. But there is another force now in play--the American people, us ravaged, disenfranchised citizens--in whom I have a great deal of faith. I think we are a lot better informed and savvier than we were even on Nov. 2, 2004, when we threw this Cartel out of the White House, or thought we did.

And I will never forget certain statistics. 58% of the American people opposed the Iraq war BEFORE THE INVASION. Feb. '03. And, 63% of the American people oppose torture UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. May '04.

With an overwhelming progressive majority like that--who are not fooled, who are not scared, who do not yield up their sense of justice and ethics and lawfulness, and their fundamental peacefulness, in the face of relentless fearmongering--we can building something. Maybe a good country.

The American people, and our fine progressive heritage, of which I see evidence all around me, bolster me up. This is a people worth fighting for--and a people, my people, your people, whom I am committed to helping in our efforts to restore our right to vote.

Americans are not stupid. Americans are DISENFRANCHISED. That is the problem. And it's a very practical and solvable problem, fixable at the state/local level. Not easy (due to bipartisan corruption in the electronic voting industry). But doable.

families and all those Iraqi people. Bush didn't do it - he went along for the ride in the position they placed him in - but these vile, un-American pnacers and cabal have been planning all this for years thinking they would get away with it all.

For two years that they've known that they lied us into war - we're over 1750 young people killed in Iraq, more who died in Germany or other hospitals outside Iraq, and all those babies, children, youth, parents, grand-parents in Iraq.

My anger at those Senators and Congresspeople who pimped for the right wing becomes more heartbreaking by the day.

We knew what was going on and they didn't because they wanted some of that corporate money or they wanted votes or they were 'scared' of not getting re-elected or ?????? You tell us Senators and Congresspeople - why did we know and you pretended not to?

7. Not only the war - they let the right wing get away with stealing our vote
I am very intolerants of them this evening.

In addition to the everyday thefts of our persons, jobs, rights, vote by corporations - our leaders are screwing us.

8. I'm sure Fitzgerald isn't alone photocopying his paperwork
and printing out and serving his subpoenas. He surely has legal assistants, law clerks, researchers, and secretaries, even if he is the sole attorney handling the case (which he probably isn't, given the size of this investigation). There are printed transcripts lying around and probably boxes and boxes of files containing his personal notes and correspondence. It may be unlikely, but not altogether impossible for Bush to have someone on the inside, feeding him bits and pieces of the case but maybe not the full picture.
