As I reported last week, H.R. 22, the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2005, will be taken up by the full House of Representatives Tuesday, July 26th for a vote. NALC generally supports the bill, but we have learned that Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) plans to offer an amendment that would slash letter carriers' workers' compensation benefits and enact FECA reform in the USPS, but not the rest of the government. We strongly oppose this amendment and need you to call your Member of Congress to urge him or her to vote against this amendment.

Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at [phone] and ask for your Representative's office, do your best to call between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m EDT.
