U.S. Budget Deficit Is Expected to Exceed $450 Billion

To: Hal1950

Gee...only $450 billion...almost a half a trillion...no biggie. Lotsa folks be in here soon 'splainin why it ain't no big deal, not the biggest percentage wise, not big in adjusted dollars de dah de dah...no biggie.

None at all.

To: Regulator

Mr. Bush, he got some 'splainin' to do before November, 2004.

So this is what "limited government", Republican-style, looks like.

Huh. Not what we were led to believe. Glad I didn't fall for that nonsense in 2000; I just didn't detect any serious effort to cut government and increase liberty.

What I did detect was more big-government politicians making promises, to get elected, so they could amass power and steal our money.

And -lookee here- that's just what happened once Republicans won everything! So, anybody out there going to fall for their crap again in 2004?

To: ambrose

Didn't W. just go around Africa promising billions to each one of those basket case countries? Amazing.

Every day he wakes up, he finds more ways to piss away more of Americans' money. His spending spree is completely out of control; he doesn't even bother to talk about any kinds of limits on government anymore.

Just another Big Stupid Government politician. What did you expect?
To: ambrose

I guess what I expected is "not as bad as Gore"

That's how they suckered, barely, enough people into voting for them to win the election. But that's a damn lame excuse to use for voting for someone: "The other guy is probably worse!" Feh.

If you vote Republican, you're voting for Big Stupid Government. Period. You can't spin it by saying "democRats are worse!" - you're still voting for Big Stupid Government.

I refuse to do that; I loath Big Stupid Government. That's not what America is all about; our government was constituted to secure the inherent individual liberties of a free, self-governing citizenry. Period.

11. Repukes say "There's no difference"
when they don't like what other Repukes do, just as Nader says the same thing. Both do it to obscure true nature of the RNC's crimes.

6. it is bound to happen sooner or later
The interests of Republicans are so far apart. Earlier this week, the freepers blamed "liberals" for children reaching puberty earlier. Their reasoning is that the liberals keep pushing all this sex stuff at the kids. They don't even recognize the role Corporate America plays in this regard.

You have the pro-life crowd and you have Neal Boortz saying "People shoudl not have kids and have a job" and "People should not have kids if they can't afford them."

It's all just so mixed up. There has to be a breaking point sometime.

9. surprised
I'm actually a bit surprised. I mean, isn't the WHOLE POINT to bankrupt the
government, drown it in the bathtub and usher in a new anarcho-capitalist
utopia? Why not just blame 'Democraps' 100% for all the 'spending' and just
hammer home "we wouldn't be in this mess of deficits (which aren't bad
anyway, so stop saying that!) if we'd just stop all government spending
(except defense and courts)"?

Freepers should be HAPPY * is running up big deficits. Most of the $$$
is going to Defense and SS. If you cut out 100% of all non-entitlement
spending there would STILL be deficits. But, Eye On The Prize; eliminate
ALL entitlement spending and it's Anarcho-Capitalist Utopia forever and
ever, Amen.

Maybe they're just waking up to the fact that a) they actually BENEFIT
from entitlements themselves, b) massive debt/deficits will screw them
someway/someday and c) their own party is just as much of a pork-
slopping piggie as the Other Party.

I predict it won't matter. They will not wake up until they are personally
slapped in the face with the results of Bush policies. And they will never,
ever, ever admit they were lied to and taken in. Denial is the best policy
when the alternative is admitting you're an idiot and a dupe.

Bigby

12. I am becoming more and more dismayed with myself
Edited on Tue Jul-15-03 11:30 AM by Iris
as I begin to not give a shit about the general populace.

You're right. This is what they asked for.

I'm reading "Fast Food Nation" and am bewildered by the fact that states where farmers and ranchers are being run over by Corporate America are the same states that went for Bush. I'm beginning to just not care. If this is what people want for themselves, who am I to think we can have a better society?

15. I know.
I've been trying not to read it before bed, but I'm almost finished and I just want to get it over with.

I was going to give it to my dad when I'm finished but I'm afraid it may drive him to suicide!

16. One and only one reason for earlier and earlier puberty
DIET. Period.

These young people are what they eat. Bovine mammary excretions laced with natural and artificial hormones, hormone injected cattle, pigs, chickens, factory-farmed fish, and the list goes on.

And advancing puberty likely adds to confused young minds, further addled by the sex and violence of mass media, and a nation totally drunk on its oil.

The epidemiological evidence is copious and conclusive about this issue of the early onset of puberty in girls and boys.

Well, just had to add my comments on that outrageous nonsense from the freepers.

10. Watch closely as the Bush Camp illustrates the deficit as meaningless...
See? It isn't really REAL.....because the red ink.....well, is only ink on a piece of paper, see? It isn't like we have all that money hidden some place where we can't find it, see? It's just, you know, accounting, see? When we talk about deficits, we are talking about stuff that isn't even there, see? It's hard to grasp, of course, but a deficit is about something that isn't even there!!! Trust us...

Or some other insane "you aren't seeing what you think you are seeing" crap.
