Disgusting conservative column twists McNabb quote

Donovan McNabb is Right
By Scott Hogenson
shogenson@cnsnews.com

Presuming that Donovan McNabb truly believes what he says about Limbaugh's ESPN remarks, what he ought to now do is take it to the next level.

McNabb should take his message to the hierarchy of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the halls of Congress and state legislatures, and other organizations that perpetuate racial victimhood and make the case that, "It's sad that you've got to go to skin color. I thought we were through with that whole deal."

Scott Hogenson is executive editor of CNSNews.com.

1. Who acted with more class?
McNabb or Limbaugh? That should be the question posed to this guy.

McNabb has a couple of bad games, and suddenly he is being accused of being a phony who is only elevated because he is black.

2. When they hire coaches it's about "comfort" not quality...
It's pretty easy to judge the quality of a player, a coach is harder to define.

When Black Coaches get second and third chances like Black QB's, then and only then can the NFL not force teams to interview Black coaches.

Does anybody know why Art Shell hasn't been given a second shot at coaching?

4. Limbaugh is an asshole, and McNabb is over rated...
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 03:02 PM by Oracle
it has nothing to with the fact that he's Asian or not. He has a gun and great reflex's and can move out of the pocket, very well...but he doesn't read defense's as well (or as he will later)...his decision making sucks...

I noticed that last year and at the end of the season and into the play-off's when McNabb went down. the two back-ups ran the offense as efficiently as McNabb…shit, Philly’s coach has that Walsh system down…and the players to make it work. And just like Walsh, when he ran the 49ers, any QB who steps in, does well…McNabb is nowhere near one of the greats…yet.(but give him a chance.)

But Limbaugh will always be a lying cocksucking asshole!

5. Eagles downplay Limbaugh remarks -- not the connotations
this article was on CNNSI today

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/football/nfl/10/01/mcnabb.reax/index.html?cnn=yes

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb on Wednesday sloughed off Rush Limbaugh's controversial comments about black quarterbacks, saying he has faced negative racial attitudes and been motivated by them all his life.

"I'm a football player. That was my dream. My dream was to play football, play in the NFL, and I will continue to fulfill my dream," McNabb said.

But McNabb, a highly popular quarterback who has led the Eagles to two consecutive NFC title games, said he is concerned about the effects Limbaugh's comments would have on black families and prospective athletes across the globe.
