congressional panel concludes faulty iraq evidence is CIA's fault
and the CIA files a request for investigation into the Wilson affair.

Didn't that congressional panel (that forced the fall on the CIA - when we KNOW it was the OSP that 'touched up' the intel) make that conclusion on Thursday or Friday?

Interesting timing. Don't you think? Or just coincidental...

1. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.
The timing is impeccable, but the statement doesn't matter. It won't be told by the media, because they already told the other story:

ABUJA, Nigeria (CNN) -- President Bush said Saturday that he remained confident in George Tenet after the CIA director took responsibility for the now-discredited line in the State of the Union address alleging that Iraq was trying to buy uranium in Africa.

The White House now says the allegations were unsubstantiated.

"I've got confidence in George Tenet, I've got confidence in the men and women who work at the CIA," Bush told reporters Saturday during an appearance with Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Bushco forgot that in order to live a peaceful, uncomplicated life, you must follow the rules of the universe:

1)You don't tug on Superman's cape
2)You don't spit into the wind
3)You don't pull the mask off the Lone Ranger
4)and you don't mess around with ... the CIA! ;-)

(Thanks to the late, great Jim Croce for putting it in terms we can all understand.)
