4. doubtful, and our dems won't mention it either
Except for the usual suspects (Conyers, McKinney, et al). Doubtless, the DLC will join the rethugs in telling them how bad they are for "politicizing the disaster."

5. Some snips from LAST YEAR
At the same time, Allbaugh gave off contradictory signals on the value of mitigation, on one occasion chastising a community for doing too little to prepare in advance for disaster. In April 2001 he caused a stir when he asked Iowans, then in the midst of massive flood recovery efforts, "How many times will the American taxpayer have to step in and take care of this flooding, which could be easily prevented by building levees and dikes?"

A month later, the Washington Post reported that the Bush administration's moves against mitigation programs were causing worries in disaster-prone states. "Statehouse critics of the proposed cuts contend that in the long run they would cost the government more because many communities will be unable to afford preventative measures and as a result will require more relief money when disasters strike," the newspaper noted.

By ignoring the logic of fully funded mitigation and other preparedness programs, Bush's first FEMA director earned some scorn among emergency specialists. "Allbaugh? He was inept," says Claire Rubin, a senior researcher at George Washington University's Institute for Crisis, Disaster and Risk Management. "He was chief of staff for Bush in Texas – that was his credential. He didn't have an emergency management background, other than the disasters he ran into in Texas, and he wasn't a very open guy. He didn't want to learn anything."

Allbaugh's troubled tenure at the agency would be a relatively short one. In December 2002, he announced he would leave his post. While political observers expected Allbaugh to join the Bush reelection effort, instead he set about creating a string of lobbying firms, including New Bridge Strategies, which helps U.S. companies win reconstruction contracts in Iraq.

This is from another thread and the article is from The Guardian regarding Bush's effforts to privatize and cut funding to FEMA...

interesting points...first Allbuagh is a hypocrite as highlighted above and notice the date that he left to set up lobbying firms to help get contracts for rebuilding IRAQ!!!! 12/02.!!!!!!!

6. Sure .......
...along with the stolen elections, the DSM, his AWOL time, insider traders,
bush telling his driver "I know about the plane" on 9/11 before it happened,
creative response concepts, his 1 yr in community service, Cheney's failing health,
the fact that Iraq will become a shi ite theocracy, Rove's actions, N Korea getting
the bomb, his connections to the bin Ladens, Jeb's bankruptcy and then buying
a building for cents on the $, and so on .........

7. Only if we blast all media
If Rawstory and other indpendent media report it, the MSM will have to report it, we need to blast them with this story.

Already they are whoring it for Bush*t saying he did well before the Hurricane hit and saying he has cut short his vacation (didnt mention it was only by one day though.

We need to get this out there, Bushy cut Levee funding, contact all local media, contact all media around New orleans, contact the MSM.

This should be a major story, you can bet they are going to whore up his visit on Friday.
