THE HORROR: No medicine for Schizophrenics, think about it.
And no medicine for people with bipolar disorder.

I am horrified and chilled to the bone. This is one of the cruelest things imaginable. People with serious mental illness trapped in a stressful environment none of us can even imagine; people who need their medicine.

What have the * people done? How can they live with themselves?

THEY MUST ALL BE REMOVED FROM POWER NOW.

WHERE IS OUR PARTY?

19. My mom is MD. I don't even want to remember what it's like when her
levels get fucked up, either from not taking meds (hasn't happened in years, thank goodness) or just from her interactions with other meds.

5. This is something I've been aware of from the first
Mental health care in New Orleans is even worse than in many large American cities. There are many, many severely mentally ill people in that city, and at best, they have barely adequate treatment if they're poor. There is also an incredible number of drug addicts and alcoholics - I think more per capita than in comparable cities.

People are wondering where the rapes and attacks are comingn from - this is part of it, at least.

13. oh right--blame rapes on the mentally ill instead of criminal sociopaths
you said " People are wondering where the rapes and attacks are comingn from - this is part of it, at least."

I really can't believe you said that. My God. Why is bigrotry against the mentally ill so rampant and so ignored by people? Now, drug addicts I can understand blaming crime on, because they are notorious for stealing to get money to feed their habit, but the others (schizophrenics, alcoholics) are no more likely to be criminals than any one else, in fact probably less so. They are usually VICTIMS of crime, not perps.

7. Well, Clinton's currently sucking up to Poppy Bush
...who refers to him as his "adopted son" (of a bitch?).

Being bipolar, myself, I can't imagine how horrible it must be for people with ANY illness, not being able to take their meds in such a situation. I'm sure that's contributing to the chaos down there, when mental patients can't take their regular meds.

...n'est pas? He could care less. I'll never believe him again on anything (and I never believed her). He is a weak man, abandons his people.

12. Where are the DEMS...they are cowards, they let their people die,
they've joined the silent majority.

Not one peep, let alone a scream of outrage.

This is our darkest day as a party, our leaders stand by while tens of thousands starve, go into acute mental distress, die from lack of medical care, die of heat exhaustion...

...THE DEMOCRATS ARE TRULY THE HALLOW MEN

9. Bipolar here and have horrific panic attacks without my medication
I have always had a fear of losing them so I keep some in my pocket book and some at home just to make sure. I don't know what I'd do in this situation without meds. It is a terrifying though to be sure.

Also I have asthma and I have thought of the people there who have it. It can be death to someone with an attack and no medicine and a horrible one at that.

11. also keeping a back up supply can be too expensive, insurance
won't cover an extra month supply. Parents of diabetic kids face this every school year. Need one extra vial of insulin at school and it isn't cheap.

I want somebody, many to pay.

I want new leaders for our party. They are pathetic cowards. They are indifferent.

So many people in the country want to help (including you guys, I'm very impressed)...but our party leaders don't get it. This was a failure of policy, negligence on the part of the bureaucracy, and, of course, a ramp up of global warming.

Where are our party leaders? We could write their speeches. They would do well, might even get elected again.
