spoke with a friend this morning who acknowledged her depression.

and, wow! she must be depressed ... because now i am feeling it.
we acknowledged that her depression (and now mine) comes from the deep seated anger that overcame us as katrina uncovered the bush boy's fascist leanings for all to see plain and simple as a tarpolin blowing in katrina's wind.

we also acknowledged that the depression comes from the realization that we are powerless over mother nature, and most importantly, over the bush boy fascist asshole.

my friend is black. we also acknowledged that once again, it is the white man having a say over the black man.

4. i am sorry to hear about your mom.

and i don't know what to say about bush. i think he is even depressing to my 97 year old father whose life journey has always been filled with a denial that depression exists.

2. If it's any consolation...

...as horrible as the situation is, at least bush's supporters are finally waking up and starting to abandon him. We have to make sure we don't let this opportunity to let the neocons and fascists know that we will not let them do this to our country ever again. Our dead deserve that much.

Also, if you or your friend are seriously, life-threateningly depressed, know that there are lots of people who can and want to help you. A combination of medication and therapy has helped me. It hasn't made me less angry, though.
