3. I've Been Having A Hell Of A Time With The News Today
All that, and it doesn't even include Rita. My wife has been asking me why I'm so bummed out. Thing is, she doesn't like it when I tell her too much about what's going on, because it flips her out, too. : (

4. GOP budget cutting plan is called "Operation Offset."
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 01:01 PM by CottonBear
Goddamn them all to hell. Every last Republican should fucking burn in hell.:grr:

edit: Republican Rep. Jeb Hensarling (major league asshole) is one of the authors. He was on CSPAN just the other day and said that "poor people need jobs. Poor people don't create jobs." It looks like they sent him out on CSPAN to begin the budget cutting propaganda drive.

6. None of those Programs would be a huge cut
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 01:00 PM by Sandpiper
We spend more in a week on Iraq than we do on the NEA in 10 years.

The wingnuts are just using disaster as an excuse to axe some programs they don't like.

26. Of course
And of course they'd never do away with the tax cuts. :eyes: I'm sure if they took those away they would surely not have so many problems, but of course they can't do that now eh?

7. Cut "first responder grants"...??? Hellooooo?!?!

What the heck are they thinking? I don't disagree w/ cutting the anti-drug ads; in fact, I'd go so far as to legalize marijuana and tax it like cigarettes.

But let's start with those frickin' bridges in Alaska.

The dude's a professor, but he is also an excellent writer with a hell of a mouth on him. If you are at all offended by profanity or vulgar images or analogies, you probably won't enjoy his writing, just as a warning.

time to repeal Bush's ridiculous new Medicare drug benefit and get rid of his trillions in tax cuts for the rich. Those two changes alone would cover the reconstruction costs of twenty Katrinas.
