I sit here in air conditioned comfort, with thousands of dollars of technology to play tunes, do research, play spider solitaire, and discuss things with strangers and perhaps even make some friends, if such a thing is possible, and I have at least a week's worth of food in my domicile which is only one month away from being paid for. In this corner, life seems to make sense, far away from the excrement that hit the fan in NOLA and far from the SNAFU in Iraq and far from the "crazy kicks going down in the city". I do not know why some people need to make things so difficult, nor what can be done about it, and I know also that I am only one good windstorm away from a power outage and a bunch of downed tree limbs to deal with, and drive-by shootings and home break-ins could make their way up here and so on.
