5. Already filled up yesterday
This evening I'm storing twenty-seven gallons of gas(at $2.49). Even if the worst doesn't happen, Big Oil has yet to meet a natural disaster that it can't exploit. By this time next week, gas will be running at least at $4.00 a gallon. If the worst does come down the pipe, we'll be having to ration gas. Forty percent of the nation's refining capacity lies right in the path of Rita.

6. how about we boycott
Rather than filling up (and thus proving to the gas companies that we're willing to pay such high prices) - we should encourage people to take one day off a week from their car.

Just think about it...if everyone just didn't drive on Sundays, we'd cut gas use significantly! A walk to church or a bus ride to church would be nice. Instead of a Sunday drive, take a Sunday Stroll...

8. Not Realistic....
I don't care for boycotts. What need is a national energy policy.

Got my car washed while I was at the station, too.

9. I cant afford it
I talked to a F150 owner and he told me it costs him over 60 bucks to fill up from a quarter of a tank. I own a gran prix with a six cylinder and I put twenty bucks in it the other day and the guage barely moved!

12. Juggled funds to top off today @ $2.90 before it skyrockets again AR
(after Rita) DH told me that folks were inside complaining about the high price, saying it was just coming down, why is it going back up now? My DH told them there's another BIG Cat 4 or 5 hurricane making it's way through the Gulf towards the coast of Texas and it will probably take out quite a few if not all of the rigs near there. Then there were the questions as to why before the hurricane even hits are the prices going up... why wasn't Bush/the gov doing something about it (mind you this is normally a rather old style Republican area)... unfortunately DH had to walk away because he didn't want to hold up the rather long and wild line for gas.
