C-SPAN2 NOW (9:00EST): John Kerry Town Hall Meeting
Sorry if this has already been posted - I made a quick look and didn't see anything.

Just turned it on, myself. He's talking about his healthcare plan now.

2. Just talked about energy independence!!
This is what turned me on to Kerry, I haven't heard someone make this issue, such an issue (which it is!).

4. And it's not just an election year conversion...
he's been hot on environmental issues for over 30 years. He now addresses our oil dependence as a serious national security issue.

5. Energy independence is my pet issue...
I've heard a couple of other candidates make reference to it. I'm sure it'll be a platform issue in the next election given the global situation. Personally, I can think of few things we could do for future generations that would be more of a boon than developing alternative sources and cutting ties with the saudis. And think about it... somebody's going to lead the world in this technology and their economy will reflect it.

10. Absolutely!
That's why when I read Kerry's foreign policy speech, economic AND environmental speeches and policies, I can envision clearly how he will lift this nation and set it on course to its best endeavors in decades.

6. It's amazing....
How ANY of these Dem candidates have more intellect and poise than W EVER had...

Kerry is very personable when talking to the average joe...he's got solid ideas for everything...

Wow - great idea: 2 years service (community service type stuff, not military...like a U.S. peace corps) for young students will get you a 4yr. in state college education...

Having 2 kids in college myself, what a GREAT idea!!!

He'd wipe Bush out in a debate.

12. He definitely knows what he's talking about.
Kerry's experience really shows when he talks about his plans and policies.

Having never seen him speak before outside of the debates, I'm impressed.

18. I'm only slightly surprised at that.
I used to assume that more people here would have examined all the candidates in great detail by now. I've since learned that darn few are well versed in exactly who the candidates are, where they have stood, what they have fought for and against over the years, and what their policies will mean for the future if implemented.

13. meet & greet...
He's talking one on one and doing GREAT!!! One older man asked about the deficit and Kerry was so genuine in his response saying how it needs to be addressed and the man said that we may need to raise taxes and that great presidents do that...

I'm very impressed with him tonight...

16. How sweet!
He took the time to sign a handwritten autograph to every single girl (about 10) in that group of youngsters.

That was great.
